Minnesota barely managed to beat Michigan once since I was in junior high. I'm 34 now. Coaching doesn't matter when you have a talent gap like that.

Sorry, I just don't get the Jimbo Fisher hype. He had 3 first round picks at skill positions and was held to 10 pts or less v. Auburn and UF - when was the last time you saw that from an offensive "genius"?

PJ - It bugged me at the time, and its not like the call got any more correct with age. Watching it again brought up memories. Having said that, I agree that Michigan should not ever have found itself in a shootout with Northwestern and could have (and should have) overcome the call (or lack thereof).

Since the subject is abject Michigan defensive failures/not closing the deal, I'll assert that the 1999 loss to Illinois where UM blew a 20-point lead in the last 18 minutes was worse.

Morbo is great but you really need to find a way to work the Hypno-Toad in somehow. Perhaps using the sound on EDSBS Live.

Hey Orson, you can take the Cat's Roar link off the list... there hasn't been a post there since September '05. But thank you for reminding me of one of my best Saturdays ever that didn't involve whipped cream. Between that compilation and the South Park knockoff, I will go to lunch as happy as a shark among surfers.

#8, the hardest day of my life is the Michigan-Northwestern game. But NU is supposed to be one of the Big 10+1 creampuffs, and you're complaining about an allegedly blown call in the first half? Puh-lease! It's called football, and you go with the calls you get.

I've been a Michigan fan as long as I can remember, BTW, and I'm not a Lllloyd-basher, but the guy and his teams do seem to have trouble when it's time to close the deal. Then again, I also remember when Bo always lost the last game of the season, too. Just sayin'...

The Rueben comment hit home for me, since whenever I forget to make a sandwich I go to this shitty Asian Deli called "KoKo's" and get a Rueben, which by some stroke of luck is actually top notch. I am not sure what possesed me to go out on a limb and order it, but its my 'usual' at this point.

That would be; "nice one North Avenue Trade School" (GT). Also, what about Bobo?

Report from the still-bitter-department of Michigan fandom:

Stop the onside kick at 4:52 to 4:51 and see 3-4 Northwestern players are offsides, including one by at least 2-3 yards. Damn it, time to schedule another appointment with my therapist.

When you mentioned Tedford's playaction post I immediately thought of Harrington in the Fiesta Bowl, and I'm a Cal fan. Great minds think alike.

Thanks for the John Bond props Orson I would give you a fucking siren if I had one.

On another note, please, no more ironic workplace humor. Its just too sad to take since I work at Innitech's real life inspiration...but then I guess everyone does.

nah, I didn't care that he wasn't mentioned - it was more me poking a subtle stick at the Malzahn clan and the fun times we've been having since the end of the season

Jerkwheat, we elided David Lee because our Arkansas coverage for the day is of the video variety. And it's better stuff than what we were going to write about him anyway, which is that it'll be Houston Nutt's same old offense with a new guy plugging away in it.
