EDSBS LIVE: BANGING LYNN RUSSELL EDITION
EDSBS LIVE! EDSBS LIVE! We start now at 7:30, which will allow ample time for The Big Lead, our big guest tonight, to talk about his newfound celebrity as the target of Schrutebag's affections.

What: EDSBS Radio
When: 7:30 p.m.--9:00 p.m. EST
Where: On the EDSBS channel at Now Live.
How: To call in? (310) 984-7600. You may also register at Now Live and participate in the live chat, where we'll be taking comments and working them into the broadcast as always. Orson's better at this than Peter because ADD PWNZ. Peter can only console himself with the joy of being employable.
Why: Bruce Fucking Feldman, that's why, who'll be breaking down spring ball like a madperson with us at 7:35 p.m. EST sharp. And Doug Gillett of Hey Jenny Slater!, who tends to bloat.
Your four questions for tonight:
1. After watching spring practice...who's your sleeper player of the season? No, Tim Tebow is not an acceptable answer.
2. Name an incoming freshman or early enrolee who may help your team. Chris Rainey for Florida, perhaps, since it's always good to be Chris Rainey.
3. Did you tailgate the spring game? We did, and we'll admit it in public.
4. Name a news anchor or reporter you'd bang. We'll give extra points to the first person who says they'll bang Charles Osgood, even if it's Ragin' Cajun Rebel who says it. Personally, we'd still bang Lynn Russell, the heat-packin', karate-choppin' siren of vintage CNN.

Can we just call #4 the Erin Andrews question instead?

1. TS WR Chris Durham, UGA. Classic “Possession Receiver” -think Doering, Collinsworth, etc.
2. TF OT Trinton Sturdivant. He better do more than help, as he looks like the starting left tackle at this point.
3. Didn’t tailgate but ate at 5-star in downtown Athens- not that different.
4. Helena Bonham Carter- well, she played a reporter once I think.

Oh, Tebow and I wouldn’t be doing much “sleeping”.

1) Eric Decker. If we’re gonna run the spread, we need at least one WR to show up. Decker is going to continue the trend of the white Minnesota deep threat.
2) Can I go with a newcomer that’ll have the biggest impact, because we have 2 of them: Tim Brewster and Everitt Wither. Why? Because they’re not Glen Mason and David Lockwood
3) Of course. If it’s a football game, you’re supposed to tailgate. The frostbite will go away, right?
4) I’d bang the cheerful right out of Katie Couric. (I said that because the obvious answer has to be Erin Andrews, like #1 said)

1. Defensive Tackle Will Johnson
2. Cornerback Donovan Warren – he will help as long as he has a pulse.
3. No. I couldn’t attend despite being only 15 minutes away due to a work project.
4. Melissa Theuriau.

1.) Some of us have not been allowed to see any Spring Practice… yet
2.) See above
3.) I will come Saturday
4.) Jeanetta Jones (must be from watching too much hurricane coverage as a teenager), though Stephanie Abrhams is hott, too

1-3. Didn’t go.
4. Stephanie Abrams and her glorious titties.

1) Peyton Hillis – Hillis is going to be used in a Jason Witten type role in David Lee’s offense and his ability to line up all over the field should prove invaluable. He is kind of a known quantity already, but if he can avoid injury this year, I’m expecting him to beast out.
2) Kareem Crowell – the big OL should challenge for a starting spot in what is always a very good OL unit at Arkansas
3) Sadly, DC is many many hours from Fayetteville so I did not. Also, the weather was REALLY shitty there that day. And I’m not going to any practice that doesn’t involve Humanity Advanced running people over
4) I find local DC sports anchor Lindsey Czarniak annoying as hell – but I bet dollars to donuts that she is a hellcat in bed.

As an Official Guest on tonight’s show, I get to break in front of the line and dibs Melissa Theuriau. If we’re doing hottest TV reporter in the United States, then it’s MSNBC’s Contessa Brewer.

1. Ohio State-Donald Washington, BC. Last year he played Nickel Back, which, surprisingly, gave him more minutes than Antonio Pittman. Anyways, he should have a great year.
2. Brandon Saine, RB. Chris Wells and Maurice Wells will be the #1 and #2, respectively at RB, but Brandon Saine could see some good playing time, especially if Chris Wells decides to option into the 28 Smash Fumble play as much as last year.
3. Spring game’s this weekend but sadly, as I live in Austin, I will not be there. I’m still looking into having the Big Ten Network Advanced Alumni Neuro-chip installed in my brain, though.
4. Connie Chung with Bobwa Wattas working the fog machine.

1) Penn State’s isn’t having it’s spring game untill this weekend, so I wouldn’t know.
2) Chris Colasanti was Scout’s number #4 MLB, so I guess I’ll go with him.
3) No, Penn State’s three hours away, and there’s no spring game in the Philly area that would be worth going to.
4) Jane Skinner, who’s unfortunately married to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
by John on Apr 17, 2007 5:32 PM EDT reply actions
1) Brandon Smith, WR, Arizona State- 6’2", 4.3 40-yd dash. Could set records if he figures out how to run a crisp route. He also blocks downfield, which is teh hottness.
2) True frosh Omar Bolden- only because ASU hasn’t been solid at corner since Mike Haynes, who you may remember as the Raiders’ interception machine on Tecmo Bowl. Bolden is one of the kids who had a nationally televised announcement of where he committed and did the cheesy hat thing, so he should either star or fall flat on his face.
3) Sort of. Couldn’t fly to Tempe for the game, but the Strawberry Hill Horse Races near Richmond is one big tailgate.
4) Robin Roberts, since mannish minority chicks need some too. She’d really appreciate it, you know.

1. Rod Blackett. He went to my brother’s high school which has put out some players (Corey Simon from FSU for one) or Jermaine Cunningham continuing a line of sack happy DEs.
2. Major Wright channeling Lawrence. StA has plenty many d1 and nfl’ers. Torrey Davis or Dunlap as close 2nds.

USC Fan Dept.
1. Travon Patterson – Wide Reciever – faster than a speeding bullet.
2. Everson Griffen – This kid could help half of the NFL teams right NOW. Pac 10 and ND are in for a major league whipping.
3. No tailgating.
4. Any busty babe from Republica Deportiva (Do they qualify? They are in broad-casting, no?)

Charles Osgood isn’t really my type.
Also, I’ll be attending the UL Ragin Cajuns’ baseball game tonight during showtime…which means a few things:
1. I will be fairly wasted, thanks to the $2 miller lt 16 ozs that sell at the ballpark.
2. Much like Kanu, I will not be in the chatroom prior to or during the show. However, he’s on a roof somewhere, enjoying life. I’ll be wasted at a ballgame. We’re both winners, I think.
3. I will be surrounded by my fellow drunk Cajuns, or as Saban would call us, “bastards.” Therefore, there is no telling what will come out of my mouth.
Can’t wait.

1. After watching spring practice…who’s your sleeper player of the season?
sleeper player is greg matthews, i think he will have around 40 receptions and 5 td’s.
also look out for carlos brown he might be an impact in the return game and on some trick plays.
2. Name an incoming freshman or early enrolee who may help your team.
It will be donovan warren for sure, the UM secondary is in need of a play maker and this kid will be it.
3. Did you tailgate the spring game?
No, I would have if I could have, but i don’t live anywhere near Ann Arbor.
but i got drunk at a cleveland indians game.
4. Name a news anchor or reporter you’d bang.
If I was single erin andrews for sure.

1) SKLM took my answer – Travon Patterson, by the time you see him, he’s already scored… unless Taylor Mays chases him down (damn)
2) Chris Galippo (although Griffin was a near second). USC Trojan Football Analysis (I’ve no connection) ran the numbers and defense was noticeably less effective in ‘06 than in ’05, more so than the offense. Some more speed at linebacker won’t go amiss.
3) Hardly. If I’m traveling 2500 miles for a spring sporting event, it’s going to be Champions League, EPL, or something similar.
4) Jill Sorenson – DC area sports reporter. I have no idea if the fairly wholesome exterior masks an inner freak, but hope springs eternal.

1. Despite a roster loaded with four (count ‘em…4!!) place kickers, UT experimented with punter, Britton Colquitt, on some long distance FG tries (hit a 52-yarder). Not sure if there’s zero confidence in the others, or just testing the waters, but the power leg of Colquitt shouldn’t be underestimated for 3-pt tries.
2. Anthony Henderson, listed as an "athlete", played HS ball as both a WR and DB with spectacular stats on both sides of the ball, At 6’1, 175, soft hands, and a blazing 4.45 sec. 40-time, he’s probably going to make an imediate impact on special teams as the PR/KR.
3. I did, if by tailgating you mean hauling bricks and mulch out of the back of a pickup for a landscaping project at the familial estate.
4. Fox News babe Megyn Kelly (formerly Kendall)!! Mmmmm!

There is not an Anthony Henderson on Tennessee’s roster, nor a signee.
by Doug on Apr 17, 2007 11:23 PM EDT reply actions
1. DT Dan Williams, Tennessee – UT must replace 2 starting DTs who will be drafted later this month. JT Mapu and Demonte Bolden are the starters and should play well, but Dan Williams will be the solid #3 and had a great spring as a whole.
2. Neither a freshman nor early enrollee, but newbie JUCO WR Kenny O’Neal will help the offense cope with the loss Robert Meachem. O’Neal will produce 900+ yards and many TDs. Also, Prep school WR Brent Vinson and true FR WR Gerald Jones will see the field, as will DB/QB/ATH Eric Berry.

The appearance of a second Doug, and this one pro-UT is off-putting to say the least. I was about to give Doug shit for not commenting on UGA, and then looked at his link… what is this world coming to, next you are going to try to tell me that Jonathan is a common name

USC has been well covered, but I’ll throw my comments too.
1) Stanley Havili. He was one of the fullbacks that got hurt last year and that played a big roll in the lack of success of the running game. He won’t be just a blocker though, he should get plenty of catches and carries. (Patterson, Turner and Hazelton could all have big numbers at WR this year)
2) With nearly everybody back from last year’s team it is going to be hard for any of the frosh to crack the lineup unless an injury opens things up. Both Griffin and Gallipo are unreal atheletes but they are both playing positions that are well stocked. There is a ton of talent at tailback too, but this McKnight kid from down south is supposed to be pretty good.
3) I would have taligated for sure, but I had a family obligation down in San Diego.
4) Lindsay Soto from FSN certainly gives me that special feeling. She’s hot and she knows her stuff pretty well, that’s a nice combination.

" Anthony Henderson, listed as an "athlete", played HS ball as both a WR and DB with spectacular stats on both sides of the ball, At 6′1, 175, soft hands, and a blazing 4.45 sec. 40-time"
To point out why the USC fans are excited about Everson Griffen, he runs a 4.46 sec 40 and is 6’4 and 266. He will just be playing DL but in his senior year of HS he also played tailback and scored 22 TD’s.
by oc phil on Apr 18, 2007 3:45 AM EDT reply actions
The day a 266 lb. kid runs a true 4.46 40 is the day I write down Greta Van Ssusssttteereenn (pre-cosmetic surgery at that) as my reporter babe fantasy. Somebody has an itchy stopwatch thumb. No doubt Griffin is a stud, but that time is a fantasy (which is why there’s no “r” by it on rivals).

to #36…as I have been scoping out every news girl mentioned, just to see who likes what, I should point out that your girl, Lindsay Soto actually won an Emmy. that’s pretty baller, I gotta say.

1. Preston Parker….dude is another E.G. Green.
2. Easy pick is juco DE Brian Coulter….but LB Kendall Smith will be second team post haste.
3. Is huffin’ glue tailgatin’?
4. Going out there and giving some love to my print media peeps – Emily Badger, O Sentinel FSU beat girl. She’s real cute and doesn’t have the crazy eyes that a lot of the TV newsbabes have.

Actually, Jonathan #34, I have had some of the same thoughts over the last few days, and am graciously offering to change my handle. I’ll be experimenting with a few possibilities.
by Doug the future Mr. Theuriau on Apr 18, 2007 10:13 AM EDT reply actions
1. Demaryius Thomas. He’s going to be our poor man’s replacement for CJ at WR this year. Obviously you’ll never replace a player like Calvin, but he looked pretty studly at the spring game.
2. While Steven Threet is the popular answer, I’m still hoping for a redshirt for him. I just don’t see wasting a year of eligibility so a FR can be your backup QB. So my pick actually goes to Nick Claytor who has real potential to force his way into the two-deep at OT as a freshman.
3. We wanted to, but we were still in the process of selling our condo and ended up having to clean up for a showing during that time before heading to the game. Our regular tailgate crew did tailgate.
4. I’m going away from the obvious choices and picking Samantha Bee from the Daily Show. I have a feeling she’s very naughty behind closed doors.
by JacketDan on Apr 18, 2007 10:16 AM EDT reply actions
1. Travon Patterson, USC WR. He’s maybe 5’8 in cleats, but has sick cuts once the ball lands in his hands. Plus he’s a 10.4 100 meter guy. The kind of weapon that does very well on the west coast.
2. Ronald Johnson will probably be returning KO’s early in the year, and he has video game speed. Should be exciting.
3. Yes, from 1,000 miles away.
4. I would totally nail Cokie Roberts, just so I could finally have something in common with George Will.
by Sam on Apr 18, 2007 11:40 AM EDT reply actions
- That’s a fair reaction. Either Griffen is a freak of nature or that time is bogus, or both. Still he will be a nice addition to a unit that looked very strong in the Rose Bowl.

Or you could buy a white Jaguar S-type and put a Cubs sticker on it – unless that was his wife’s car I saw him gassing up.
Banging Cokie Roberts might be cheaper, but I bet she leaks gin when she’s squeezed, and that could sting.
