REAL LIFE BEARING DOWN LIKE MACK TRUCK
Real life whipping our ass--your EDSBS Radio cheat sheet will follow shortly.
In the meantime, the Dropkick Murphys do "For Boston," the Boston College fight song. (Courtesy: Bill.) For our money, it's the second best use of bagpipes in a song evah--the first evah following the Murphys after the jump.

AC/DC, somehow I knew that was going to be it.
I would like to think that numerous high school coaches were inspired to wear those way too short Bike shorts after seeing Angus Young. Sadly though, I don’t think that was the case.

Because of the Dropkicks, For Boston has long been my 2nd-favorite fight song.

As a STL Cardinals fan, the pain of 2004 world series still lingers deep in my heart. Ever since, my hatred for Boston is only surpassed by my hatred for those warchickens on the otherside of the state.

Saw Dropkick about a week ago in Cincinnati. Wear a motherfucking mouthguard if you ever see them boys. Bad-fucking-ass.

Dave- Fenway Park is only a few miles away from Boston College, not exactly across the state.

Anyone have a link to Dropkick’s version of the ND fight song handy?

Forgive me for being Chinese and all, but why are they playing Scotland the Brave to celebrate St. Pat’s? Or is just the shared spite of the English enough to explain it?

Two thoughts, both probably controversial:
1) Brian Johnson > Bon Scott, there I said, that’s how I’ve always felt.
2) What is the big deal with Dropkick Murphy’s? I’m as Irish as Paddy’s Pig, but it seems, out here in NorCal if you’re a fan you have to have dyed black hair and be a pussy. Do they do that song from The Departed? Because if they do,then that’s one good song they’ve done.

Yes, it is Dropkick Murphys performing “Shipping Up to Boston” in "The Departed.
For whatever reason, I have a liking for Celtic Rock and the like. If you like Dropkick Murphys, you might want to try on Flogging Molly for size.

BC Pat – by “warchickens”, I meant Auburn….by state, I meant Alabama. Sorry for the confusion

What Dave? You don’t like Auburn and mocked us by calling us “warchickens”? To hell with YOU!!!! I hope you and your whole damn family get shingles! I bet you didn’t even go to Bama, you only have two semesters of Shelton State under your belt, and probably have DAVE stamped on the back of said belt! My soul burns with RRRAAGGEEE towards you and your kin!

I cast a vote for Flogging Molly over Dropkick Murphys. Also, of course, Pogues.

Dropkick was good about 7 years ago, before they got the new lead singer and did everything they could to sound like the Pogues. Plus, way too many jackass frat boys love listening to them, drinking shitty Irish beer and pretending they know what the hell it means to be working class.
Best use of bagpipes ever: Toxic Narcotic – Beer is the shower.

I’ve still got to go with Dropkicks over Pogues and Flogging Molly. There’s no better song to rattle the old guy trying to hustle your money in a “friendly” pool game than to put “For Boston” and “Cadence to Arms” on the jukebox (the pipes do a better job than death metal in that sense). They are becoming a bit of a frat boy fetish though.
