CONDOLENCES FROM EDSBS
We'd like to send our condolences out to Rodney, proprietor of Alabama's venerable Tider Insider message board. Rodney lost his son-in-law to a motorcycle accident on the 8th; his wife, after being notified of the accident, was then killed in an accident returning to Tuscaloosa on the same day.
The ongoing condolences thread is here.
We're tearing up at the thought of something half this bad happening in our world. Words can't cover something this bad, but condolences from us to you anyway. We wish you peace.
Please leave your sympathies below, and we'll make sure they get to the right place.

Rodney has been a great supporter of the Tide and its fans. Our thoughts are definintely with him.
Orson, if you hear about a memorial fund or anything of the like, let us know.

Never having lost a close family member, I can’t even begin to empathize at the pain and sorrow that this husband/father-in-law and daughter/wife must be feeling. Rodney; you, your daughter, and your beloved family members will be in my family’s prayers.
God Bless.

Damn. Just, damn.
Never heard of this individual or been to his site, but his family will be in my thoughts for sure.
A wise man once told me that sports was “the toy department in the store of life”, so sad that it often takes real life tragedies to remind of of how insignificant they really are.
Peace be unto them, and you as well.

Condolences and love, Rodney. You might never understand why something like this had to happen, but know that there are endless avenues of support. I’ll be praying for them and for you.

That’s off-the-scale tragic. Makes the Iron Bowl seem unimportant.

I’d never heard your name until this moment, but never the less my thoughts and prayers go out to Rodney as a fellow sports fan and a fellow human being.
There’s not a lot of us in Jacket nation, but we’ll be praying for you.

I also didn’t know of Rodney before and am also saddened by such a horrible combination of losses.
That makes a whole lot of things suddenly seem unimportant.

JacketDan said it right . . . Rodney, we cannot imagine the depths of your grief in this terrible and tragic hour, but you will remain in our thoughts and prayers as you seek to find the strength to make it through this horrible ordeal.
Orson, I know most of us don’t know Rodney personally and aren’t in a position to contact him, but we would all be grateful if you could let him know that, if there is any assistance any of us can provide, he has but to pass the word along through you and it will be made so.
Do we know anything yet about arrangements or where to send donations or flowers?
May God’s peace be upon you, Rodney.

I’m a former SEC sportswriter, and I knew Rodney pretty well from my comings and goings in the league.
TiderInsider is one of the crazier, more interesting fan sites out there, and Rodney is a great guy. He always remembered me and knew I went to the University of owa, and always asked me about Drew Tate, whom he had a connection with from his days in Texas.
I’m literally sick to my stomach about this… it’s a punch in the gut.
I can’t imagine taking a double tragedy like this, and I hope and pray he is well tonight. Godspeed, Rodney.

So Sorry to hear of your loss. I know from personal experience how tough it is to lose folks so close to you in a short period of time. You are in my prayers as you climb this hill. The top is there, you just can’t see it right now!!!
