SIGNING DAY SUMMARY WITH SCOTT FROM SCOUT.COM
Scott Kennedy from Scout.com shares it all–and at thirty minutes, we mean all–regarding signing day. We'll give it the Dikembe Mutombo warning: if you can handle its amazing length, you'll be sexed like never before in a recruiting analysis kind of way.

I am a draftnik, so the irony that I find recruiting boring by comparison is pot calling kettle black. Anyway, nice to hear him actually say the truth, that these scout/rivals star rankings are really less important then getting a good level of talent and with coaching enough to win the big bowl.

Listened to the whole Scott Kennedy interview and here’s a summary of the points I thought were most interesting:
1) Florida selects, not recruits, its players now.
I guess Florida is now the hot 19 year old blonde at the party.
2) Surprisingly good recruiting by near-dead Miami.
I guess Miami is like the chick who is finally getting second and third looks after many moons of working out at the gym and skipping dessert and most of the meal.
3) Biggest dissapointment on signing day - Notre Dame. Although they have a top 10 class, two key players decommitted at the last moment. Plus, freakin’ Illinois got better defensive players than Notre Dame.
I guess Notre Dame is now the 9 months pregnant farmer’s daughter with three kids by different men left at the altar by the city-slicker-traveling-salesman on her wedding day.
4) No discernable Nelson “A-Ha”! comment by the missus during the interview.
5) There are too many nerds that take this recruiting stuff way too seriously. (Guilty as charged cottonpicker!)
