CRY, LITTLE BOY. CRY.
We’d stop doing this, but we just can’t. The hangover’s just too sweet to relinquish.
Your tears…they bring us joy. We drink them from your Heisman-winning skull.

Orson Swindle and Stranko Montana are two men pushing thirty who should know better than to run a college football blog, but evidently don't. Both graduated from the University of Florida, and both agree that college football is far too important to be left to the professionals.

Re: #40
you are right, I believe Coaches Paterno and Bowden both had 2 MNCs. It was just so long ago they were completely forgotten.

I actually felt bad for that little kid. Been there. This game probably felt like his whole life, and he’s too young to really remember/appreciate their last MNC. From me he gets a “Buck up, kid. Just wait until you like girls more than football. The pain is much worse then.”
The two consenting adults with red and gray face paint, who spent who knows how much of their own cash and vacation time to be there, and who certainly are old enough to appreciate a recent MNC… not so much. They get the Nelson laugh from me.

I can remember running out of the TV room into the living room and burying my head in the couch pillows as I sobbed uncontrollably - it was the 4th quarter of the 1986 Orange Bowl -
Losing stinks - even if you are a bucknut.

My wife told me I was being insensitive when I laughed at that kid during the game. What do you expect she went to Rutgers?
What is best in life?
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamintation of their women.
Or as Nelson would say, “Ha Ha”.

The only way this game could have been better is if the Gators had forced OSU to kneel before them and admit their evil and errant ways.
Now, as long as my team can beat the $hit out of the Gators next year…

If Tebow really ignites the spread option next year Urban Meyer will be in serious danger of becoming the Yankee (pleather jacket, no visor) 2nd Coming of Spurrier; e.g. a snarky, sarcastic, dude who puts up millions of points on you by with a crazy offense (passing short and getting tricksy instead of bombing away a la OBC) led by mayonnaise white, devoutly Christian QB and gloats about afterward causing deadly hatred by all UF rivals. Hopefully the scenario can be completed by the Redskins drafting Chris Leak in the later rounds and setting on the bench for 2-3 years, at which team Joe Gibbs will totter off into senility and Dan Snyder can haul in the Urbinator to run Leak off the bench and lead the Skins’ to a couple season of mediocrity before splitting to go coach at whatever SEC school Saban has recently vacated.

I think Saban’s going to have more problems recruiting than the ‘Bama fans seem to believe. After they gave him all the booster money in salary, what’s going to be left over to spend on players?

I may incur the wrath of the email army known as Kentucky fans, but to claim the 1950 national championship based on a retroactive Sagarin poll is pretty retarded. Maybe in ten years UF can get a sagarin ranking for “on-campus women of 2006″ so the 10th place finish will be wiped from the books. Just think what you will be able to claim–BCS championship and made-up hottness list in the same year!

Re: #39,
Didn’t a couple of the coaches you named actually win multiple national championships (though one of Pete Carroll’s is questionable)? That being the case, I’d say they didn’t have too much trouble finding their way back to the top.
Also, couldn’t we just make that new bullseye design orange and blue so it doesn’t clash?

To paraphrase Andy Garcia from his best film…
Boat drinks for everyone in orange and blue!!!
Now, get the hell over yourselves and admit that the road back seems more difficult than it is to get there in the first place. Let’s see… list of coaches who somehow find it hard to find their way back to the top:
- B. Stoops
- P. Fulmer
- P. Carroll
- B. Tressel
- N. Saben
- B. Bowden
- L. Coker
- M. Brown (TX)
- J. Paterno
Let’s see…did I leave anyone (worth talking about) out?….. ohhhhh yeahhh….one more
- S. Spurrier
Hope that new circular design (with dot in middle) on the back of your jerseys doesn’t clash with the school colors!!

It’s just as credible as any of Alabama’s 238 championships!

Hey Alex Hamilton….has anyone told you yet that the Bear is dead? Don’t you think you ought to win more than one national championship without him before you go back to living in the seventies?
And I believe that Urban cried after the LSU game, not the ‘Bama game. Hell, he just won a national championship — I don’t care if he cried when he saw “Beaches”. (Note that UF has been able to sustain success with more than one coach)
Anyway, enjoy your two years with Saban. I’m sure it will be a fun ride until he finds a better job.

Try to beat Auburn first before you open your trap.
Try to have some class next time you go after a coach too, while you are at it.

To the victor goes the spoils…. and with that beatdown,, er, victory went a lot of spoils. Congrats.
Alas, if you’re going to talk about tears, one can’t help but think of the Urban Legend bawling after DeMeco Ryans and Mark Anderson made the entire Florida Offensive line thier bitch on or about October 1, 2005.
“We play defense at Alabama.” DeMeco Ryans 2005.
Only 10 more championships to go until you catch UA gators.

If college football alone doesn’t already have a roman gladiator thing going for it, the gator chomp definitely seems like something from that era. It’s like the hoi polloi are screaming “FEED THOSE LOUSY CHRISTIANS TO THOSE IMPORTED EGYPTIAN GATORS!”

#27, #30 - There was some jackass sitting in front of us (and next to 4 UF fans - who were cool, BTW) with a Michigan hat & sweatshirt. I’m not really sure if that was in support of the Big 10 or against tOSU. I’m inclined to believe the latter. Either way, it’s like wearing a Ravens jersey to the Chargers/Eagles Super Bowl.
This is also my 3rd post since the a$$ beating we took. I’ve now moved well into acceptance. But I have to say this: the Gator Chomp has now moved up the list to #2 between #1 “Hail to the Victors” and #3 “The Tomahawk Chop” of CFB traditions I can’t stand. I don’t know where it was before that.

Am I the only one who noticed the Buckeye in the blue and white striped shirt and said to himself: “what would motivate someone to wear an FC Porto jersey to a national title game?
I didn’t ID it as a Porto shirt, but I had the same reaction otherwise. Still, turned out to be a good decision for post-game exit.

Yeah, the LB position is going to take a hit. Crum and Everett are both seniors, and there’s a good chance that Siler is gone. However, Doe, Spikes and Stamper are all quality LB’s. Hopefully we get some added depth from the incoming class.
