I’m just curious if Orson’s new blogpoll will have UF in the #1 slot or if he’ll have them floating around in the mid-upper teens in order to avoid any type of inflation. Inquiring minds want to know!
Congratulations. Don’t let any other Buckeyes fans claim that the Gators only won because of Ginn getting hurt. We got outplayed and outcoached. Good job.
Re #4: I haven’t heard any of that yet. I think even Subcommandante Wayne can figure out that Ginn didn’t have any blocking responsibilities on Florida’s front four last night.
Congrats Gators. That’s hard to say coming from a Tennessee fan. But, well done in showing that the SEC brings it all to the table. Enjoy this one as it is well deserved.
I never bought into the whole “root for your conference” thing. I am overjoyed that we won a tough game, and Michigan and Ohio State got blown the hell out.
And I looked at the local news this morning to see if Orson set anything on fire here in Atlanta, but it seems he may have passed out in a drunken stupor beforehand.
This just in from Atlanta! Subcommandante Wayne was arrested by Atlanta police driving erratically near Orson’s house. When they finally pulled him out of his SUV, he was wearing a bulletproof vest and he had four loaded guns in the car!
confirmed by conversation with CJ in Lake Butler, FL yesterday at a gas station. He is transferring to UF…I don’t even think he is currently enrolled at Clemson
How in the hell can anyone vote tOSU as the #2 team in the country? I’m not sure if they were even the #2 team on the field last night. (Toss-up between Gators defense and UF offense.)
Couldn’t help but love Jarvis Moss’ post-game quote about how 4 or 5 SEC teams could have beaten the Buckeyes.
My top 5:
1. Florida
2. Boise St.
3. LSU
4. USC
5. Louisville
Never before (Since the battle of England, ‘42) have so few done so much against such great odds. There should have been a resounding chorus after the game…. ” the ass you are handed is your own ”
this is my contribution to the potential t-shirt quote
Florida has given resounding evidence that any team making it through the SEC with EVEN ONE LOSS should be seriously considered for a Natl Champ BCS spot. The BCS makes a joke of the dreams that the media and/or the coaches can effectively evaluate who is the best team in the nation. Bring on a semi-playoff or quit telling me who is the best. nuff said
But let’s stop with the ’speed kills’ can we.? Florida won due to more aggressive play. Not speed. They were picking apart holes in a stupid non-aggressive defensive zone for short yards. Picked OSU apart.
The two speediest plays of the game were the opening kickoff and Antonio Pittman’s touchdown run from scrimmage.
As bad as Troy Smith was last night, his QB rating (28.6) was still higher than Reggie Ball’s after the UGA game this year (25.13) with two fewer completions and 7 fewer yards (35 vs. 42 for Ball). Take heart, tOSU fans: Troy Smith at his absolute worst is still better than Reggie Ball.
Buckeye, try telling your boy Smith that speed doesn’t kill. Harvey and Moss looked like they were having a contest to see who could get into the backfield first. The speed off the edges(and up the middle on more than one occasion) totally confused that OSU O-line, and directly led to 5 sacks and a forced fumble.
Good work Gators. Dominating the lines and smart play everywhere win games. tOSU’s speed was wasted. Hope Troy Smith enjoyed his turn behind the ND O-line last line. Quinn probably had nightmares all night about the Lions and Raiders O-lines. We won’t forget that familiar palindrome on the scoreboard when prior seasons are used to declare teams BCS worthy or unworthy.
Here’s to a better 2007 for everyone except the Gators. You guys left no room to go up in two sports which is a great accomplishment.
Was that Weis going for it on Fourth and Dumb? (The Buckeyes, trailing 24-14 late in the first half, were facing fourth-and-1 from their own 29-yard line, and THE Ohio State coach Jim Tressel (or Weis in disguise) elected to go for the first down instead of punting.)
Fan-freakin’-tastic. What a whoopin’. You’d think that during the 51 day layoff Coach McSweatervest and associates would take a look at some tape, maybe look at the defensive line, figure out how to exist in more than… can you exist in less than one dimension?
Rewatching the game now, and feels even better. tOSU looks more hopless than I recalled through my haze. Wow.
Choice quotes over on CSTV:
“Another first down reception from the Gators right across the middle. Can Ohio State cover any [Gator]?
The speed difference was Florida’s DE’s against Ohio State’s OT’s. Also, crossing routes against OSU’s young linebackers. Otherwise, Florida was just more intense, organized, disciplined, and better. OSU’s defense was confused, not slow. Meyer severely outcoached Tressel, who made Rich Kotite look like Vince Lomardi last night.
I still look forward to Ted Ginn doling out ice cream from the Mister Softee truck in Columbus. Hopefully he’ll wear a James Jett jersey.
Orson Swindle and Stranko Montana are two men pushing thirty who should know better than to run a college football blog, but evidently don't. Both graduated from the University of Florida, and both agree that college football is far too important to be left to the professionals.
