Woo-hooo! I was rooting against tOSU, but this is silly. Looks like 51 days between games might be too much.

Is it just me, or does it sound like tOSU band is playing a death march.

by Psunami on Jan 8, 2007 10:31 PM EST reply actions

Although I will admit tOSU band kicks UF’s ass… even if they are playing the Titanic song… wait… they aren’t playing the Titanic Song to be ironic are they?

by Stranko Montana on Jan 8, 2007 10:32 PM EST reply actions

I’m glad someone else noticed the rather blatant hold. These commentators are as bad as Troy Smith.

by CW on Jan 8, 2007 10:32 PM EST reply actions

Apparently the marching band halftime show is the place where white folks are going to draw the line, and refuse to rip off/water down African-American culture.

Bad call, white folks.

by delicious pundit on Jan 8, 2007 10:32 PM EST reply actions

Columbus cops may have to start working overtime early. With that score and the band show over, I’d bet that a lot of folks hanging out on High Street will skip the second half and start rioting now.

by DevilGrad on Jan 8, 2007 10:36 PM EST reply actions

That team speed of Florida really wasn’t a myth. I tried to tell all of the Gator Haters that I know, but none of them wanted to listen.

Seriously though guys, someone tell me they know where Evil Leak is at this very moment.

  1. - it’s worse; they played Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On.”

DEATH TO THE OSU BAND.

by Signal to Noise on Jan 8, 2007 10:36 PM EST reply actions

tOSU has a real band. No flag girls, no baton twirlers, and no woodwinds.

Well, at least they’re winning halftime in a walk. As for the game…if Florida scores on the opening posession, the Buckeyes will need the biggest comeback since Our Lord showed up the Romans…

by VandyJ on Jan 8, 2007 10:36 PM EST reply actions

Early word on the street from Arizona.

It may just be great to be a Florida Gator.

Bill Belichick called Meyer and said he’d call the defense of this game if Florida would give him another Caldwell for next week.

Reggie F Nelson was not held, he was actually accosted from the rear. The blatant OSU bias by the commentators is ridiculous. Jimifacs UGA Fan

RE #26: OTOH, Florida is 0-1 in bowl games against teams from Ohio. Something’s got to give.

by DevilGrad on Jan 8, 2007 10:52 PM EST reply actions

There’s one place where Florida’s definitely faster—the ends versus the offensive tackles. They don’t stand a chance.

by Orson Swindle on Jan 8, 2007 10:52 PM EST reply actions

Orson @ #32 — Florida’s defensive ends are either freaks of nature (and in college football, that’s saying something) or the coaches learned how to sneak-lace the Gatorade. Either way, OSU could stack three tight ends out there to block and it probably wouldn’t make a difference.

by Signal to Noise on Jan 8, 2007 10:58 PM EST reply actions

This version of deplorable ain’t all that bad. Holding serve and winding clock — and now flipping field position so that even if UF doesn’t score, a punt will put OSU back in their end of the field.

Orson, I wouldn’t consider the 3rd “deplorable.” OSU didn’t do a thing either. Burn clock, play solid D, that’s all UF needs to do now. No need in pressing offensively and doing something stupid (like Leak tried in the 2nd quarter).

  1. That was Mitch Mustain’s resume tape for his division II school his moma is driving him to. You didn’t get a bowl game or even an SEC game. You got a message to all hot shots who think they know more than coaches, dumbass!! We could have turned Felix Jones on weak defense but choose to have a freshman throw until his arm fell off. FYI a ten point lead is nothing in this league so don’t jump your ignorant butts around until you actually win ok? Mcfadden playing with a separated shoulder whole game due to an NFL illegal tackle on opening drive.
