    CW says:

Congrats guys, and I’m all for a Boise State/Florida throwdown next weekend. Let’s just keep the games coming.

    RB says:

    Michigan Dave,
Just be happy that Carroll has enough class to have allowed you guys to score that meaningless TD to make your loss look a little less worse.

    Michigan Dave says:

    RB-
Florida was simply awesome. They owned the WHOLE game and never let up.

The rose bowl was tied in the first half and Michigan got smacked by USC in the second half. Then they let up and we got our garbage time touchdown. :) The thing is, you just never know when garbage time gets serious. (2003 Minnesota game, 2004 Michigan State game)

I wonder about Carroll. He is a great recruiter. The game plan against Michigan was outstanding, but in last year’s NC game Texas had injuries in the secondary and he refused to throw the ball and finish out the game. Also, the apathy in the UCLA game was amazing.

    BC Eagle says:

Split the title. I’d love to see Boise State vs. UF in a play down game but until that happens I can’t see a logical, common sense way to discern a champion.

    PSUgirl says:

Don’t worry about it – UF is the NC. Boise didn’t even get to play the #3 (at the time) team in the country. Things like this happen – (yes, we know all about this).

And, again, I’m wondering if anyone remembers that it was I, way back when, who predicted this.

    Dr. Ed PHD.XYZ says:

Florida is #1, To all that think Boise St. should share the title please see , Auburn ‘04. That’s just the way it goes. If they would stop ranking teams for next season until they play 3-4 games it would help teams like Boise St. and Auburn . It’s total crap to rank a team before any games are played. Congrats Gators

    doubtingthomas says:

    Congratulations

And though the system is flawed, its ridiculous to think Boise St deserves any chunk of the title.

How much you want to bet Troy Smith will buddy up with Gino at the rest of the Heisman ceremonies. The one that Gino has NEVER missed since he was last seen being planted in the Superdome turf

I missed the first couple minutes – but a friend called to “commentate” for me while I was walking home – The first sentence spoken? “Evil Sweatervest has a vagina” – code? (perhaps going forward, but) no, apparently Coach “Big Game” had a Big Game Camel Toe.

    Kirk Herbstreit says:

Here’s the problem I had: I get paid to actually watch college football, from noon to 2 a.m. I watch every game there is. And I do that for 15 straight weeks. I’m in a position where I can make an opinion on more than: “well right here on paper, it says Florida beat six top 25 teams.” I don’t care. I don’t care.

That was a great night for the SEC, an especially great night for the University of Florida. You guys may have to change your banner for the web page–could we stage a Meyer-Leak low-five?

    Larry Givens says:

CONGRATULATIONS GATORS – YA’LL DID US PROUD! Now, a couple of observations/questions.

    (1) LSU fans no longer feel so bad about losing to Florida, though they ARE still wondering about the Auburn game.

    (2) Florida fans are also wondering about the Auburn game, though at the moment, it doesn’t really seem to matter.

    (3) Auburn fans are also wondering, though not so much about the Arkansas and Georgia games as whether their day in the sun has come to a screeching halt.

    (4) Asking Bill Curry to comment on the Saban to Alabama story is like asking Bin Laden to say a few words about world peace. Bill needs to move on and ESPN needs to give some thought to objective commentators.

    (5) Can someone articulate just how dumb the Meeechigan crybabies look about now? I don’t seem to be able to.

    (6) Why is Patrino getting a pass from the press? More importantly, why do I even care. Ya’ll say it best. College football is too important to be left to the professionals.

    (7) College football does not need a playoff system. We already have one – it’s called the SEC Chamionship game.

    (8) Do we think McSweatervest is still going to put in for that Sabanesque raise?

    (9) Why is it okay to talk about firing Lloyd Carr after he went 11-2 but firing a 6-6 Mike Shula is akin to kicking a puppy? By the way, if Alabama fired my son, I would defend him to. But I wonder what circumstances took Daddy Don from Baltimore to Miami. Surely, he didn’t just up and quit at Baltimore.

    (10) How long till September?

    FightingIrish says:

Way to go Gators! As a Columbus native, I have never been happier to see a team lose so badly in my entire life. Without a doubt, tOSU supporters are the most classless fans in all of college football. I’d like to say I’m better than stooping to their level, but sadly I am just not.

Uhh…Mich and OSU got hammered, but I fail to see how the 4 best teams in Big-10 going 2-2 as being a ‘fraud” conference.
