YEAH, WATCH IT AGAIN.
Balls. Just monstrous, huge testicular fortitude by Boise State.

When friends ask me why I like college ball better than the pros, I’ll have a new answer: Boise State versus Oklahoma. I’ve never felt such delight watching an end of a football game. Thank you, Chris Petersen.

The only downside to last night’s game—and that’s the ONLY downside—was Fox’s atrocious, hideous commentary. That snippet right here features Brennaman finishing off a rather unnecessary argument for a football playoff, going way off tangent before one of the most exciting finishes in a bowl game. His actual play-calling was only so-so I’d say. Barry Alveraz proved why he’s now an athletic director I guess, as he didn’t offer much insight into the game at all, at least given his standard as a GREAT COLLEGE FOOTBALL COACH.
But the msot offensive of the commentators is Charles Davis, who, other than annoyingly calling Alveraz “coach” all night long (even Herbstreit cut that crap a long time ago with Corso), made a habit of predicting play calls all throughout the second half and overtime and being completely wrong every single time. This was easily the worst 2007 commentating job I’ve ever seen.

Can anyone find a clip of Chris Meyers dropping the proposal on Ian Johnson’s girlfriend? Trying to show it to co-workers.
“Ok, I know you want to propose to your girlfriend now so go ahead and do that.”

“Wow, you must have wicked sack to make that call with the game on the line Chris.”
“You’d better believe I’ve got wicked sack, Bob.”

While I agree that Brennaman was a bit tiresome, I thought Davis and Alvarez were light years ahead of the idiots on the other networks. Which means they were barely tolerable. They described the action, gave insights into plays, made guesses on the play calling and admitted when they made mistakes…all without having too much bias or agenda.

I think it’s fair to say that Boise St won the Cajones Cup.

Chuck Norris once challenged Lance Armstrong to a “who has more testicles?” contest. Chuck Norris won by 5.
Chris Peterson once challenged Chuck Norris to a “who has more testicles?” contest. Chris won by 18.

Charles Davis is atrocious. At one point, he began a sentence with ‘I don’t know a whole lot about football …’
Really? Why are we calling the game then bucko?

I can’t believe I fell asleep with 4 minutes left.

To me that wasn’t quite as annoying as Barry Switzer repeatedly referring to Oklahoma as “we” in the pre-game/mid-game stuff. Way to be objective there, Captain .38. Or maybe it was just another aspect of Fox’s ongoing quest to fellate the Dallas Cowboys organization to within an inch of its life.

Fantastic game….I nearly shut it off in the 4th after Okrahoma’s pick-six….sure glad I didn’t.
By the way, has anyone mentioned that Texas Tech pulled off the GREATEST COMEBACK IN BOWL HISTORY (31 points…seriously they set a record) against Minnesota? It was on the NFL network, of all places.

YAAAR! Never mind Boise State vs the winner of tOSU / Florida, I want to see Boise State / Texas Tech for the mad dog coaching offense-a-palooza bowl.

Chris Peterson – huge cojones. Stoops – not so much.

Boise State vs. Texas Tech would have to be played under driveway basketball rules — first team to 100, gotta win by 4 — and even then, it might last only two hours.

While it was painful to lose like that, those plays were beauties. A hook and ladder, a sprint out with a WR, and the statue of liberty play. It’s like getting killed by one of Rube Goldberg’s genius contraptions.

Were the OBC’s orbs ever that big, bright, and shiny?

Glad to see the Fox commentator got the Tostitos part in when Boise State won it. He probably got a big bonus today.

The silence from Columbia has been deafening. If OBC had ever tried that series of gonadatry, he’d still be telling people about it to this day.

Gator KK,
It was on the NFL Network so nobody saw it. So nothing anybody’s seen compares with this BSU game.
Orson,
Gonadatry? Neologism of the day?

Here’s the video – last 2 minutes plus OT. Piss on Fox for taking it off of Youtube.
