OK, first let me make a few disclaimers: Though a somewhat devout* Catholic, I’ve never been thought of by anyone as being prudish, priggish, or puritanical. I enjoy gazing at naked and semi-naked female flesh** as much as the next guy (Women of Univision – muy fantastico!!). There’s no intended condescension or judgment in this inquiry:

The pic in the link was of the woman in question kissing another woman, which is the second time this week a fuss has been made over Miss Something-Or-Other playing tonsil hockey with another woman in public. It’s certainly not the image the Miss USA pageant folks want in the public eye, and I can understand why the pageant people are none too pleased, but why are my fellow XY chromosome brothers so entralled by this? For the life of me, I cannot understand the fascination and thrill derived from watching two women kiss. Not even a little bit.

Could one of you fine gentlemen (or ladies) please explain it to me?

We think the idea is that two women kissing are not only not very selective in their choices of sex partners (something appealing to single men looking for one-off interactions,) but also compliant to even the strangest of requests.

That said, all of those photos reek of Jagermeister, herpes, the smell of bronzer and cheap perfume. The guy in the red ballcap is in every photo of every woman like that ever taken.

I love how the cutline for that photo has Miss Nevada “extending her tongue to passionately kiss” the other chick. Apparently “passionately” is a synonym for “drunkenly” and “kiss” is more or less the same as “coat one’s face with saliva.” Kids these days!

I just “outed” myself or I’m female? Because I respectfully asked why girl-on-girl action is so appealing to a lot other guys and mentioned that I don’t do strip clubs? To you guys, does “not liking the same things I do” = “gay” or “female”? I would expect better from educated people.

My experience with strips clubs stemmed from visiting the Dollhouse in Orlando, FL, one of your “higher end” strip clubs. At the time (pre-college), I was working as a landscaper, making $15-$20 bucks an hour (no one in Central FL wants to take care of their own yard, and I don’t blame them). While the women were very attractive, it was also obvious as the evening wore on that they were making absolute fools out of the men visiting there. I saw guy after guy slip $20 bills into the G-strings of these ladies for getting, well, not much more than an eyeful. $20 bucks in my wallet translated into an hour or so in the Florida heat toiling for very finicky rich people. I was going to give it to her for pretending to like me for a few moments? Pass. A few years later, a woman who placed me as a contractor was a former stripper. In a conversation on her former profession, she confirmed what I suspected: that the dancers have an enormous amount of contempt for the men who frequent their establishments, and take tremendous delight in manipulating them out of their cash.

As I said in my first comment, there is (nor was) no intended condescension or judgment in my comment. If anyone enjoys going to those places and wants to go to them, go right ahead. I still feel tempted, from time to time, to duck into one, though I have not followed through on it. Does avoiding strip clubs make someone either a) a prude or b) gay or c) female? I certainly don’t think so, and I would expect better from educated people, but you’re welcome to your opinion as well.

Or is it the two-woman-kissing thing that doesn’t particularly appeal to me that has “outed” me? While I think RaginCajunRebel’s (is that one school in LA still called the Ragin’ Cajuns? Or have the PC police but that moniker out of business?). While I agree with RaginCajunRebel’s “I like women. If I can see two women, I like that better.” sentiment, them turning their affections on each other seems to me like a cry for attention. When witnessing two nubile young things lock lips in public, I wonder if it’s the fact that I’m almost old enough to be these ladies’ father that has me wondering “What on earth is compelling you to do that?” instead of “That’s hot!!”
