Around SBN: Jim Irsay: We Can Make It Work With Peyton Manning

WE'RE JUST TRYING TO HELP.

Bellichick. Spurrier. Saban. Norman Schwarzkopf, for all we know. All have turned down the batting eyelashes of Alabama for their head coaching job, leaving the program hot and heavy for Coach Rich Rodriguez of West Virginia and then counting on...Mike Sherman? Mike Riley? Mike Hunt?

To make the process easier for all involved, we're offering this visual aid for the entire state. If everyone purchases one, the whole ordeal should be over with in a matter of days.

The person NOT wearing the shirt? There's your coach, Sparky. Go get 'em!

Mike Hunt….priceless!

My eyes… are burning… why do you have “OSU RULZ!” smeared on Danny and Steve??

Must… look… away…

by GatorAM on Dec 7, 2006 8:15 AM EST reply actions

The shirt is only available in XXXL. I guess Mangino doesn’t want the job.

Is this month going to go hi-tech feuding? Because that would be awesome. Just watch out, tOSU fans have a history of having sticky fingers while using the Internets.

Also, O’Brien to NC State? Just goes to show ya. (I’m not sure what, but I’m sure it’s something)

… you know, living in Europe without a prospect of being able to go to an Alabama game anytime in the next four years is all that’s keeping me from buying that shirt.

I’m forwarding this to all my friends, though— next year in Tuscaloosa, a few thousand Hog fans wearing it would be great.

That’s good stuff………
You guys have had this experience first hand so it is funny for you now.
But this to will pass and after Cheatie Mcsweatervest is done turning The Urban Legend into the Gimp the balance of the universe will be back in order.
And the tide will have a coach….a good one.
Then we will talk.

By the way congratulations on a shot at the national title. It doesn’t happen for everyone, ask Auburn.

Heh. I think tOSU tag across your banner is priceless. I’ve been waiting for the hydrocephalic mouthbreathers that seem to make up the most-vocal (and visible) part of Buckeye Nation to show up and start making me and the handful of reasonably—-uh, reasonable—Buckeye fans look bad.

My apologies in advance for my manners-challenged bretheren who will proceed to stomp in here, break a leg off your coffee table, leave a giant dukie in your toilet, drink all your beer, hit on your sister, eat all your chips and somehow manage to mess up the reception on your big screen before eating half the pizza and managing to skate before having to cough up a sawbuck for their half of the pie…

Speaking of Mike Hunt.

Congrats to MSU for landing this stud. Mike Hunt will give Lucious Pusey a run for the money any day.

I hope this guy is a starter some day. Egg Bowls will all of a sudden be fun again.

I also hope he gets run over by Casey Dick someday causing Dave Rowe to say “As you can see, Dick comes straight up the middle and blasts Mike Hunt.”

I present Mike Hunt:

Just think. Some day, Casey Dick and Mike Hunt could be on the field at the same time.

A player from a small-town school in the Miss. State Championships was introduced at a press conference as Mike Hunt. I was the only one who busted out laughing (well, on the inside. Amazing, the physical restraints of being in public).

I like the shirt. Very Onion-esque — I’ll have to buy one to go along with my “The sports team from my area is superior to the sports team from your area” shirt.

On an unrelated note, would Mike Hunt beat Lucious Pusey in a fight?

Mobile Press Register on al.com reporting an offer was extended to RR this morning, “sources say”.

by Tater Salad on Dec 7, 2006 1:31 PM EST reply actions

Tuscaloosa News reports the same thing – with the TNews reporting it, it’s safe to say the offer is out there.

Mike Hunt will be playing D-1 ball at Mississippi State next year. Thanks Croom.

Orson…when are you going to get more sizes than XXXL for the legendary football shirt? I want to buy one, but not that damn big.

Klinsmann withdraws name from consideration for the US national team job. Perhaps he’s en route to Tuscaloosa.

AZTiger – takes me back quite a few years. Could tell more stories, but the Bucknuts inhabiting this site might start accusing some of us of having some robes way back in the closet.

Had to let an Irishman and a Scotsman hear that, as they had not heard me laugh that hard. They are still rolling on the floor 30 minutes later.

Apparently you can take the shirt down now.

Forget Spurrier and Saban; if Mal Moore had come to me and told me they were gonna look for a new coach, I’d have told him to go after 1) Petrino or 1a) Rodriguez. And looks like they did. Somebody just got an offense.

by Scott on Dec 7, 2006 11:27 PM EST reply actions

Incorrect, Rich Rodriguez just bought himself an EDSBS tshirt.

The man’s staying at WVU.
