I hate it when EDSBS has real life issues. I need this today. With the Bengals/ Ravens game tonight I am already on pins and needles. EDSBS calms my nerves and makes me happy.

Hey Odell, I’ll help you out: it doesn’t matter who wins, since in the NFL you can lose upwards of 9 and yet still have a chance to make the playoffs at the end. So, you know, don’t pet the sweaty things and all that jazz. Hell, if the NFL ran CFB, not only would we have a playoff but there would be football all year long.

Of course, CFB is now set up so that half the teams in Division I-A get into bowl games, including numerous teams with only six wins, despite the ability to intentionally schedule non-competitive games. But do feel free to cary on with your comparison.

Yea making a bowl game is like a consolation prize for having a .500 record. Having a .500 record in the NFL puts you in the playoff hunt, e.g. the entire NFC.

Given the frequency with which teams that don’t have home-field advantage make the Super Bowl (and yes, I know the Steelers did it last year), the last eight teams arguably *are* playing in the Meinke Bowl.
