TPS REPORTS STRIKE AGAIN.
Real life intervenes, so the blog will likely be unattended today, unless Stranko cares to post some Univision cheesecake. Which he should do.
In the meantime, head on over to Bruins Nation, where they’ll have a dialogue between Peter and Orson about who to pull for in the USC/UCLA game. And please take a look at Brian’s fine chart explaining the coaching carousel.

Two names to add to the Miami and Alabama mix: Denny Green and Jeff Fisher. Green is already available and Fisher may be available after the season but it looks like the titans seem to be getting something done lately.

I hate it when EDSBS has real life issues. I need this today. With the Bengals/ Ravens game tonight I am already on pins and needles. EDSBS calms my nerves and makes me happy.

Hey Odell, I’ll help you out: it doesn’t matter who wins, since in the NFL you can lose upwards of 9 and yet still have a chance to make the playoffs at the end. So, you know, don’t pet the sweaty things and all that jazz. Hell, if the NFL ran CFB, not only would we have a playoff but there would be football all year long.

Of course, CFB is now set up so that half the teams in Division I-A get into bowl games, including numerous teams with only six wins, despite the ability to intentionally schedule non-competitive games. But do feel free to cary on with your comparison.

Mieneke Car Care Bowl = Super Bowl
Yea making a bowl game is like a consolation prize for having a .500 record. Having a .500 record in the NFL puts you in the playoff hunt, e.g. the entire NFC.
Yawnnnnnnnn OH WOW the Bills beat the Jags! Wow that drops the Jags to 6-5 and the Bills are now 5-6! PLAYOFF CONTENDERS!

Given the frequency with which teams that don’t have home-field advantage make the Super Bowl (and yes, I know the Steelers did it last year), the last eight teams arguably *are* playing in the Meinke Bowl.
