That narrows down the 'Bama list, at least: Texas defensive coordinator Gene Chizik goes to Iowa State, a score for them. Head-busting cover-2 scheme to follow, for sure, leaving Mack Brown with a critical hole to fill on his staff at Texas. (HT: Dave.)

Stallings is in Tuscaloosa for the news conference…I doubt he would be there if a new coach wasn’t being introduced

the rumor was that a plane went to Austin to pick Stallings up, now the reason the planes there is for kines to interview for the texas dc job…it probably all bullshit

Oklahoma doesn’t really run the spread anymore. I mean, it’s there sometimes, but mostly the offense consists of praying that the QB doesn’t screw up.

… I’m no Alabama fan, but Joe Kines is still one of the most underrated coaches in all the country. Biggest mistake Arkansas ever made was not naming him the permanent HC, and bringing in Danny Ford.
