RUMOR RUMOR RUMOR!!! JEFF BOWDEN OUT AT FSU?
It's a sad day for defensive coordinators in the ACC: Jeff Bowden may be out at FSU. More forthcoming...
UPDATE!!! Yessir: AP says he's gone. Gimme a fucking siren! WOOOOOOO!!!

WOOOO!!!
To replace him, Bobby is looking hard at hiring his grand-nephew Bass Pro Shops Stonewall Prestige Bowden, who despite being 13 "is a whiz at those football video games." President T.K. Wetherell has declined comment.

Its official, I totally read it on a message board.

Um, “replace him”? Why? Bobby is perfectly good at calling reverses, punt rooskies, and runs out of the “I” formation.

“Dadgum people won’t get off my boys back. I’m agonna punch somebody.”
He’s not actually resigning until the end of the season though, so you Florida fans can relax knowing you can’t lose until the SEC championship game.

rumor on the Auburn message boards is that more competent son Terry Bowden may take over the OC duties. Which to me sounds like an awkward Christmas dinner.

God, I don’t know what the future holds, but for now, I want to just look this news in the eye, tell it I lust after it and make violent German love to it.

Am I the only one who is deeply saddened by this news? Gators 4 Jeffey!!!

This is actually bad news. They might get someone competent in there.

I offer the great offensive braintrust of the Bama coaching staff to replace J.B.
NoleinTexas,
Could that be violent Muenster, German love?

She’s Baaaaack Dept:
Bobby Bowden ought to hire Cowgirl Jenn Sterger for the rest of the season. Two reasons:
1) She can’t do worse than Baby Boy Bowden, I think. (Can not get negative points on the scoreboard.)
2) She has been a great Offensive Coordinator of sorts for the past two years. (pun intended)

Is there another kind of German love? Efficient, yet deadly….like the Luftwaffe before we showed up.

In the end, this is going to end much like Napoleon’s land war in Asia- he tried to retreat, but you knew already that it was curtains. Over/under on how long Bobby stays? I put it at 1.5, with the X-factor (b/c god knows it ain’t X-Lee) being Joe Pa’s knee injury.

Great, they couldn’t hold onto him one more year. Alabama plays them next year so I’m sure they’ll land Bill Bellichik’s wetnurse to call plays for them and the Tide will face an offense no one on planet Earth has ever witnessed. Next thing will be that Georgia lands a robot Safety to patrol the defensive backfield next year and Matt Stafford takes yoga in the offseason with John Elway!

Is it a coincidence that right after Bowden resigns the stock market shoots through the roof?

Italian gator-
The Russians wouldnt take kindly to being called ‘asian’. Unless you are refering to Egypt, which is in Africa.

Who in their right mind wants that job? Bowden won’t bring in anybody who could actually succeed him.
Look for somebody hopelessy flawed for a head coaching job (NCAA rap sheet or personal demons) but who still knows his X’s and O’s (i.e. a Mickey Andrews for the offense). And sorry Bobby, JoePa isn’t letting Galen Hall loose.

Here’s the danger – Papa Bobby begins the real succession plan, and brings in someone like an Al Borges, or a Jimbo Fisher to run the O next year. After that, the team reins are turned over. Or is there a way Mark Richt is convinced to move south again? Will the ‘Dogs’ fans get to keep his wife in Athens?

Sometimes it’s takes a drubbing at the hands of Wake Forest to crystalize things for a man. Although it’s nice to see Bobby bowden has moved from the denial stage to the testing stage of the Kubler-Ross Grief cycle.

Actually, tzubear, it would only be those Russians who are positioned west of the Ural Mountains who can consider themselves not to be Asian- roughly 1/4 of the actual land mass that makes up the entire country (although the population would certainly be a higher percentage). That said, I’d take it up with the man with 6 fingers on his right hand.

First Donald Rumsfeld. Now Jeff Bowden. Damn, it’s tough being an undeserving offensive coordinator these days.

Italian-
That man’s right hand actually goes up to eleven.
by Ltrain on Nov 14, 2006 5:17 PM EST reply actions
Actually Tarpon, FSU will probably open up with a 3-0 win over Bama so Papa Bowden can claim that Florida State is still number 1 in defense and Bama is now number 2.

Boneparte never made it past european Russia, and most Russians think of themselves as european. If only because the west is more populated.

I vote for Terry Bowden. It will get him off the radio in Orlando every afternoon.

Rummy fucked up but at least you can say there’s a modicum of thought and/or intelligence there.
Many more parallels to Mike Brown. Incompetent. Undeserving cronyism. Complete lack of anything resembling a clue.
“Jeffie, you did a heckuva job.”
I’m not happy about this. The new hire can’t be worse.

I’ve been underperforming here at the office, so I’m negotiating $537,000 over 5 years severance from the shareholders: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2663018
