WHOA...SOMEONE TRIED TO KILL CRAIG T. NELSON?

The Wiz brings us this mondo bizarro story: in 1982, Hayden Fry wore a bulletproof vest to games to protect himself against the threat of an assassin who sent him a death threat. The only noticeable change? The Iowa coach wore black pants instead of his usual white pants.

Two important questions here:

1. Excepting a pair of bellbottoms we saw Gerry Faust wearing once on ESPN Classic...who the hell would have the balls to wear white pants on the sidelines anymore? Besides Alvin Wyatt?

and...

2. What kind of sick fuck would try to kill Craig T. Nelson?

Who would kill our most beloved television football coach?

And if Alvin did wear them, they’d be egyptian linen and match his open front shirt.

“The man who made the threat was later institutionalized”

To kill Caoch Fry, the crazy bastard knew he would have to blend in.

“Hey, I’ll wait til they play in Lincoln.”

Crazy? Definitely. Clever? No doubt.

I bet it was Joshua Jackson from The Skulls. Craig T. was a bad dude in that one.

I bet it was Judy Watkins.

Craig T. Nelson has done so many things in his life:

1. He’s flown an SR-71 Blackbird.

2. He coached Minnesota State.

3. He’s defended his family from supernatural foes on mulitple occasions.

4. He shot Hooch.

That’s quite a list of achievements in a life.

Don’t forget that Craig T. is also responsible for developing the 6-4 Stack Monster defense off “All the Right Moves” and kicking Tom Cruise off of the team, allowing for the more cathartic moments of that classic film…

Are we talking about Minnesota State Craig T. Nelson or Ampipe High Craig T. Nelson? Because the Ampipe High CTN deserved a good slug to the belly.

“He has everything at stake. He can’t afford to lose. He’s got to make all the right moves.”

I know it is the movie’s tagline, but it reads like some bad 80’s music. Oh right, I forgot, this movie was FULL of bad 80’s music…

If you don’t put Coach back on the air, I’ll be really upset. The skillful acting of Craig T. Nelson will be missed a lot. Signed, Peter Griffin
