GEORGIA NAMES A STARTER
Senior Joe Tereshinski has been named the Dawgs’ starter to begin the season. Good for him. We like to see an opportunity for a third generation player who waits around for 4 years get a chance. It is one of the beautiful things about college football. We hope he does well enough to remain the starter and get beaten by the Gators in Jax.

Um Peacedog, I live in Athens and know many people who both work at and attend UGA. That’s the word from the insiders here in town and it’s not my problem if you chose not to believe it.

I read that too Ahab. I’ve also read other commentary on the scrimmage itself, the previous scrimmage, the G-day game, the spring scrimmages, and all of spring and fall practice. Which I suspect you haven’t.
Offering the following analysis:
“Stafford has a better chance of being redshirted than he does of starting. Supposedly he’s looked lost and is a distant 4th in the QB derby. ”
Based on that one comment is absurdity.

Richt is completely hands on with the UGA QB situation.
Too obvious to me. Start the senior that has four years in the program and some game experience.
Quarterbacks can be benched forever between plays without calling timeout.
JTIII is a tough guy, but not particularly gifted as a quarterback.

Chg - You have to really love GGM to enjoy The General. It is good, just fairly arduous.
I am pretty sure that this is the first time Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Joe Tereshinski ( I, II, or III) have ever been discussed in the same forum. Ah - the beauty of EDSBS.

As bad as Mark May is, at least we won’t have to endure Granny Holtz drool all over himself and spit on Rece Davis.

JT3 will “manage the team” (his words) at a minimum, and hopefully surprise us all. It’s not like he was warming the bench for mediocre qbs the past few years.
The Bulldogs will win the SEC East!
