BECK STILL AWOL FROM NEBRASKA PRACTICES. JOSH PORTIS' MOM HAS NO COMMENT.

Harrison Beck, backup qb at Nebraska, is still AWOL from practice, citing overall unhappiness at the number of snaps he's seeing behind 'Husker starter Zac Taylor. Beck made this statement indirectly through his mother, who doesn't know where he is but "called to say he's safe," following the hottest trend in NCAA scholarship player PR, using your mother as your professional spokesperson. In response, Bill Callahan said he wanted to do whatever was in Beck's best interests, which is code for "toobusyforthiscraptakesomeboilerplatequoteandrun."

Give all credit for this to Allen Iverson's mom, however, a pioneer in the field.

This class act of a person names one son Allen Iverson, and the other Mister Allen Iverson.

As Don King would say, Only in America!

Beck is now officially gone from Nebraska. Supposedly, three schools, including NC State, are interested in him.

“Callahan declined to comment on Beck-Bothwell’s comments and said his conversation with the stepfather would remain private.”

which is code for what he really said:

“You tell that overhyped, egomaniac kid of yours that his happy little ass better be back in my doghouse within 24 hours or he can play mop-up duty for that little white-haired pussy coach down at Texas A&M”.

Teammate Joe Ganz, who along with Beck was battling for the No. 2 spot behind starting quarterback Zac Taylor, said he was surprised by the news. “We didn’t see it coming,” Ganz said. “We had no idea.”

which is code for:

“Good riddance and I hope he wore his panties out with him. Now I’m one nick away from being the starting QB at The University of Fucking Nebraska.”
