BEARS REINSTATE LEVY
Following a no contest plea to a misdemeanor arising out of a bar fight, California quarterback Steve Levy was reinstated to the team. Although he'll begin practicing, Levy will still be suspended for the season opener against the Vols.

Cal's Steve Levy... not the one pictured here with John Saunders.

That Kit Hoover, I would do things to her that Mark from Road Rules hasn’t even dreamed of.

would that be Steve “bulging disk” Levy?

I met Kit at bar in Buckhead one night, very nice. I complimented her on Cold Pizza not realizing she had been fired some 4 months earlier, and she took it in stride.

Is there any truth to the rumour that they reinstated Levy after he promised to chuck several pint glasses at Ayoob’s throwing arm?

Craig James sucks. . . .oh, right, yeah Steve Levy, whatever.

Nix,
Kit wasn’t fired from cold pizza, she was merely reassinged to one of the down line ESPN entities…..the ESPNzone in Buckhead. Is she as cute carrying a try of nacho poppers?
I fully expect to Olberman there one day changing out the fryer grease.

Kit Hoover. Man. How anyone ever found her attractive is totally beyond me.*
- - the fact that she went to Carolina and has the on-camera talent of potato has no negative effect on my physical evaluation of her. None whatsoever. No sirree.

Riddle me this: how does a 5-6 Tennessee team improve to No. 23, while a 10-2 Alabama team nose-dives to No. 24?

Bama lost fewer defensive returners from a better defense than Ohio St.; yet how far did OSU fall?
by Cool Hand Mike on Aug 4, 2006 1:35 PM EDT reply actions
I’m not comparing OSU to Bama. Just how Bama fell and OSU rose.
by Cool Hand Mike on Aug 4, 2006 1:36 PM EDT reply actions
How exactly is Bama going to score any points this year? OSU just has to be average at D b/c they can score 50 on just about anyone. (I’m not an OSU fan either)

because the coaching poll is…uh… ‘weighted’ more for coaches with large girths… Hence why ND is near the top, UT is on the board, and maryland isn’t too far behind. See? even Pete Carrol (not fat) slipped a few!
that’s my theory, anyway.

Hack,
Mainly because this poll isn’t about last year. I think the general consensus is that Alabama is going to have a tough year with about 7-8 wins and UT is going to rebound with 9-10.
by Brian on Aug 4, 2006 2:04 PM EDT reply actions
Tenn will have 9-10 wins, my ass. Jesus H. Cutcliffe will not help that much.

enough about that..
Kit Hoover=Not Hot
John Saunders=Pompous Canadian blowhard heavily influenced by every conceivable negative stereotype about southerners.
I loved it when he had to retract his comments about The Auburn Board of Trustees after insinuating they burned down a podunk Newspaper in Tuskegee a few years ago… freakin’ bigot!

Of course they will, no matter how much you hate on Fulmer, the fan base, our Teflon status, or whatever else, you can not deny that a 5-6 season is an outlier on a 15 year scale of success. 9 wins, think about it. They’ll probably beat Cal, Marshall, Memphis, Air Force, Vandy, Kentucky, and Alabama. Then all they have to do is win two games against Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, or LSU. Georgia and USC are both in for sub-standard years (if there is a success standard at USC0. Furthermore, UT has shined every season they have been expected to fail re: 1998 (after Peyton) and 2004 (10-3 with the same QB they have this year).
by Brian on Aug 4, 2006 2:53 PM EDT reply actions
Whoops, forgot Arkansas. Count that one and then they just have to beat one of the above 4 and that is 9 wins.

Levy looks like he’s bowing up to decide whether or not he should go ahead and punch Saunders here, and Kat Whatever from the old Cold Pizza looks like she’s enjoying the potential excitement, like “Oooooh, now what you gonna say to that?” Absent all context, there is at least some underlying animosity to this picture based on the body language.
Then again, for some reason she’s got a FOX News mic, so this is very likely a still from a sketch of some sort, and they’re just momentarily competent actors.

Hilarious. “Probably beat Cal”?? Probably not. Unless Ainge turns into Peyton Manning overnight, Tennessee won’t score half of Cal’s points. And Cal’s D is also better.

Let’s see, the same thing was said about GA at Athens in 2004, Miami at Miami in 2004, LSU at LSU last year, FL at FL in 2001. What I’m saying is what every UT fan already knows. Never, EVER bet on UT when they are favored, but in situations like this one with Cal I would just about gaurantee a UT win.

Bama went 10-2 last year with zero depth on the O-line. By the 5th game of the season Shula was forced to use strategy that made Gene Stallngs look like Sid Gillman in comparison. “Let’s try to eke out 17 points without getting Croyle killed, then let our defense play whack-a-mole with the opposing teams running backs.” It worked very well.
Bama’s defense is being horribly underestimated this year. Most of our underclassmen last year would have been starters on other SEC squads.
On offense Bama should have a little more depth on the O-line, one of the best backfields in the SEC, and a VERY good sophomore QB that nobody is paying any attention to.
Bama will finish the season in the top 20, and has plenty of potential to compete for the West.

Remember when Steve Levy did play-by-play of games with Todd Christensen? Brutal. And he was even worse doing hockey games.
