OHIO STATE'S GENTRY RECOVERING
Tyson Gentry, the Ohio State football player who broke his neck in spring practice this year, continues his recovery. Good news for a change: Gentry, who broke his C4 vertebrae (usually meaning instant paralysis with irreparable damage to the spinal cord,) has regained feeling and movement in his arms and in some parts of his body, and continues toward his goal of walking again.
If a Buckeye has an email or address to send notes of encouragement, please leave them in the comments below.

Gentry: recovering after a cruel freak accident.

Tyson has a truly inspirational partner in all this…Adam Taliaferro. The former Penn State defensive back was hurt in Columbus in a game against Ohio State (paralyzed but has regained use of his arms and legs through intensive therapy and a VERY strong will).
Adam has visited and called on Tyson…hopefully Tyson will recover the way Adam did:

More sad news for Buckeye fans, QB coach Joe Daniels has cancer http://www.dispatch.com/football/football.php?jrl=338129&story=dispatch%2f2006%2f08%2f01%2f20060801-B1-02.html&rfr=nwsl&clk=39377

Big props to Big TG!!
Since this is a nice feel-good thread of the day, I may as well mention that Tennessee DT J.T. Mapu has returned to campus following a two-year haitus of CFB to go on a Mormon mission .
Although it wouldn’t be nearly as fun to cover and make fun of…there should be the equivalent of the Fulmer Cup…but the school would earn points for such student-athletes performing GOOD deeds (e.g., saving little puppies from a raging inferno); or at least by pumping the positivity like Mr. Gentry. Not sure what to call it though. Any ideas?

Keep the faith and keep working. Many people including us are asking God to grant you total and complete recovery. We haven’t seen much of you since you lived on Sycamore Drive in Norwalk, Ohio and we were your neighbors down the street. May God bless you Tyson and your family.
