DUKE GUNNING FOR FULMER CUP TITLE?
Don’t snicker. (Okay, snicker.) Yes, your favorite southern academic institution that you previously had no chance to get into continues to hack, hack, hack away at its pristine reputation.
Today’s good news out of Durham: sophomore quarterback Zack Asack has been suspended for the year for… plagiarism!

Montavis Pitts is transferring. Are Fulmer Cup points assessed for the school whereon said athlete is arrested, or convicted?

Duke’s a fraud.
Remember the ESPN piece on the basketball team 3-4 years ago? The whole team was getting their sociology degrees in three years. Far from bending their standards to recruit blue chip athletes, Duke’s cagers made the regular student body look slow and dull witted for taking - gasp! - four years to get a bachelor’s degree.
Auburn is in hot water because of a disgruntled prof. The brainwashing is so bad at Duke the prof’s don’t even care.

Glad to hear it. ‘Cause it made no damn sense whatsoever.
I don’t intend to rehash the LAX issue here, but, a close reading of the Duke administration’s actions would show that each was carefully based upon actions of team members about which there is no dispute over the evidence (i.e., getting arrested so damned often that a Fulmer Cup for D1 lacrosse would be superfluous and generally behaving like jackasses for years with the tacit approval of the coaching staff). The only fault I find with their response is that Joe Alleva (the AD) still draws a paycheck. He deserves to be fired simply for letting that situation fester for years before March 2006.
