Gator fans should feel symphathy for tOSU as we remember Lance Mitchell.
Orson Swindle and Stranko Montana are two men pushing thirty who should know better than to run a college football blog, but evidently don't. Both graduated from the University of Florida, and both agree that college football is far too important to be left to the professionals.

Supposedly, the “inside” word is that he’s in. But this has been happening a lot lately to OSU. Highly touted RB Javon Ringer did not even consider OSU due to admissions and went to MSU. Derrell Johnson the same and went to Iowa (Johnson was a die-hard fan of OSU and OSU wanted him also). Josh Chicester was in this class but had to go to Loiusville instead. Freddie Lennix of Glenville, who was supposedly the best player on his team at Glenville which included Ted Ginn Jr, and Jamario O’Neal, gray shirted for a season, and still didn’t make it so he went to Cincinnati…

FYI, Youngstown State is Div. I-AA, not Div II. Still a disgrace.
In my opinion it should be ok for Div I-A teams to play Div I-AA teams, but you should have an automatic 1 point penalty in the BCS (which would therefore mean 2 points if you lost the game).
I-A playing I-AA is fine for the sport because even small I-A stadiums are pretty good payouts for the I-AA schools. It gives the alums of lower I-A schools something to feel good about at homecoming and a needed financial boost for the I-AA schools.
HOWEVER, if you plan on competing for the National Championship, you should not be allowed that easy of an opponent. What good does it do? There are plenty of poorI-A schools for top teams to play that they don’t need to add I-AA to soften the schedule even more.
BYU didn’t only played 4 teams with winning records and wasn’t that an exciting year for the National Championship?

I didn’t think tOSU even offered D. Johnson, when they were after him he wasn’t elgible, and then when he became eligble, tOSU didn’t have any schollies left. At which point Michigan and Iowa went after him hard.

Jim Tressel coached at YSU before getting the OSU job. They won 4 national championships in the 90’s. Now that I-A’s can count one I-AA win a year towards bowl eligibility and there is a 12 game schedule, most teams are scheduling one I-AA a year. Get used to it and quit whining

The only reason we are playing them is because Tressel coached there previously, and won the aforementioned 4 national championships. Ohio State is one of the more audacious when it comes to OOC, so I don’t know what the stink is. I can’t remeber Ohio State scheduling a I-AA school in the past, and can’t imagine them scheduling another I-AA school besides YSU.
But whatever I guess. There are way too many Michigan fans on the internet at a given time to properly combat the propaganda.

The info I got was that OSU was aware DJ would not pass admissions at OSU, even though he did end up meeting the NCAA requirements…Pretty certain we had a scholly available, since Chichester went to L-ville, and I don’t think we use up all the schollies available to begin with…

Actually Youngstown State isn’t on OSU schedules and I don’t believe they will be. Oh it was talked about on the forums all over the place but it hasn’t happened. But Penn State does have the Penguins on their schedule this year.
