STALKING TEENS
Sure, the media may be concerned about whether coaches circumvent NCAA rules by texting recruits. But why aren’t they worrying about the grammar and syntax the coaches use when contacting recruits? Why have coaches declared A WAR ON GRAMMAR?!?!?

Ground zero in the war on spelling. Don’t let them get away with it!

The complete butchering of the english language in IM’s, emails, text messages, myspace, etc. is a big pet peeve of mine. Text messages, I can kind of understand abbreviating since there is no easy way to speed that up. But spelling the word “you” as ‘u’ in an email? You’re saving two keystrokes that take less than a half second. And it still amazes me how many people don’t know that “you’re” means “you are”, and “your” indicates possession.

As long as you can adequately interpret the text message, I see no problem with abbreviations, misspellings and incorrect punction/capitalization. I’m with you on the email side of things, though. That’s just flat laziness.
