IOWA STATE LB TESTS POSITIVE
Matt Robertson, who was to be a senior linebacker for the Cyclones next season, will be forced to sit out for a season following a positive test for a banned nutritional supplement. We are on the fence about Fulmer Cup points for this one. A year suspension is defenitely worth something for sure, but how much. We need more details like, for instance, was this a supplement taken from Mark McGuire MacWire McUaer McGwire's medicine chest or a Chinese balm given to him by Bob Cobb.

Was the Maestro to blame for this???

I defenitely don’t want to turn into a nag on grammar and typos or anything, but McGuire coaches Marquette while McGwire pops Andro and hits the ball into the parking lot.
If the maestro really was behind this whole thing though, I guess that’s what you get for ever trusting Neidermeyer.

If he was injecting HGH into his ass I say that’s good enough for a 1 point.
If he got it from Voctor Conte I’d say give him 2.
COWolverine, I don’t think it was JUST Andro that was putting those McGwire balls into the stratosphere. Come to think of it, is their a “master list” availible online for “banned substances?”

I figured I’d stick with what we know for sure, since he was openly advertising the Andro habit. Wild speculation has no place on an internet sports blog of course.

Who told you to put the balm on? I didn’t tell you to put the balm on! This is a public humiliation!

Hit another car and blow a .159? The NCAA trusts the coach to mete out punishment.
Take an OTC supplement? Career over.

A whole year? It’s an infringement on constitutional rights! It’s egregious, outrageous, preposterous, lewd and lascivious!

I defenitely dont want to turn into a nag on grammar and typos or anything, but McGuire doesn’t coach Marquette. He currently spends his days pushing up daisies. McGwire, however, could very well still be popping andro and hitting balls into random parking lots in whatever municipality he currently calls home. I know you knew that…but still, if you’re going to be a grammar prick you might as well go all-out.
And IMO there can be no Fulmer Cup points for this. Taking a banned supplement is not illegal; ergo, no laws were broken. Giving points for this would pretty much mean you’d have to give points for every time a player commits “conduct detrimental”. None of us have time for such a list.

Yes, past tense, sorry. He also was coaching the Marquette Warriors back then too, I don’t know what the heck the university settled on now, Eagles, The Gold, Golden Eagles, whatever…
I’m still waiting for Stranko to pick up on my more subtle nit-pick actually.

I have to agree with Mike. Cyclone athletes get in trouble all the time, and a guy who’s academic all-Big XII (that’s a feat for an ISU football player) gets kicked off the team for this.
