He signed out of Juco. He's 20 years old. Most likely he was caught drunk but without a drink. They can't give you an MIP for carrying alcohol in your stomach. You have to have a drink or alcohol in your possession at the time, otherwise you get what he did, public intoxication.

If he just signed w/ Ole Miss, why did he not recieve an MIP to boot? Me thinks this is two offenses and two points.

I've never understood public drunkenness. If this is a crime, why isn't public stupidity or public ugliness. Being drunk isn't inherently dangerous! I see a lot of public bums that are drunk and they just sleep quietly in the park.

Quick question, but how is the Tide not at least on the board for the Fulmer Cup? With Travis Sykes getting a DUI at 8:30 in the morning, that has to count for at least a point. Although, I have not heard anything since the initial reporting of the arrest.

Was he passed out drunk on a commode? Did the police have to knock the door down to get to him? Despite being awakened from a drunken stupor, did he have the wherewithal to give a fake birthday that made it appear that he was legal?

If not, Ole Miss can go on with its bad self. Color me red, black, and unimpressed.

It's Actis, not Artis. The misspelling can be forgiven though as he just signed with Ole Miss in December and has only been enrolled for 2 months.

Glad to see we're making a push though. I had no clue we'd had 5 players arrested since last January. Obviously they choose that date since that's the time of Orgeron's hire, but I think the majority of those arrests were at the beginning of that period.

I honestly can't remember any arrests from the past season or even the summer of '05 for that matter. Research it though. I may be wrong.

If we really want to get in the running for this Fulmer Cup though, we'll have to do better than this. I think public drunkeness is only a 1 point offense. We're not exactly bursting onto the scene here.
