How bout we get that yearly UF-MIA match up going, mmm-kay? They can’t handle the urb!

All I have to say about that is Boomer Sooner.

I’d love to see that, but $ drives scheduling in the SEC and that means more marginal matchups. Of course, we’ve been somewhat of Miami’s bitch of late too.

Despite the fact that I need more fingers than I’ve got to count the times I’ve almost died in Little Havanna I would much rather take our chances against them than handing Mid-Central Michigan High School a paid trip to Florida each year(getting to whoop their ass is free) regardless of any increases in yearly expected pay out come bowl season….

LOL, more Urban hype, do you really think the ‘U’ is intimidated? I seem to remember 38-33 & 27-10. Some short term memory with a lot of you, trying winning the SEC East before taunting Miami.

OK, if we’re not up for a bit of speculation we’ll just get back to discussing the annual UGA train wreck that is the cocktail party.

Alltell is built on an Indian burial ground. EVERYONE knows that.

Between the Canes playing OU and A&M and FSU playing Alabama and Colorado in 07 – UF looks pretty bad as far non-con scheduling goes.
On the plus side, we can go back to the glory days of the mid-80s. Maybe Switzer can bring the old coaching staff back and swap wives again. Huzzah!

But UCF is the NEXT GREAT FLORIDA FOOTBALL SCHOOL! Get Excited.
Western Carolina on the other hand, umm, yeah…about that…

In honor of the fine history of firearms safety at both schools, Dick Cheney will do the coin toss. Just don’t yell “pull” while the quarter’s in the air.

Is it wrong to cheer for a stadium collapse?
by bitterhorn on Feb 17, 2006 11:10 AM EST reply actions
Over at MiamiHawktalk.com, we call these sort of matchups “sinkhole games,” where you’d like to see a big hole just swallow up the stadium and all its inhabitants. OSU-Cincinnati or UC-Marshall come to mind.

Personally, I love it when Miami and UF play (apparently 08 is the next one).
It guarantees someone will lose, which prompts much fist pumping and crotch thrusting on my part.

I like to call them Taliban games myself, where you hope Bin-Laden decides to launch his latest terrorist attack on the stadium that day.
OK, maybe that’s going a little too far. Wait, no it’s not. I forgot this is college football we’re talking about. For all Rebel fans, that game is LSU-Miss. St. I always pull for the Taliban in that one.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing the Miami-FSU game get bombed a time or two also if you’re listening Osama. I can’t stand those two. Now if we could just make sure Brent Musberger and Bob Davie could be in the stadium to call the game and be a part of the bloodshed, I could die a happy man.

Well, if EDSBS wasn’t on an NSA monitoring list, it certainly is now.

You’ve got to give both teams credit for balls.

I think the 7th Floor Crew handles the ‘Urb’ just fine…..

NoleinTexas, you’re right. Da U is coming to the swamp in 08 and UF’s going to visit Little Havana in 2013, I think, or something ridiculous like that.

It’s a shame we have to wait so long. College football would be better with an annual State of Florida battle royale.
In 80s wrestling terms, it’d be Tatanka, Skinner and the Repo Man going at it. 1000 pesos to anyone who remembers them.

NoleinTexas, your WWF reference is circa 1991, and an awesome one at that. Repo Man was the stuff!
With Georgia, Tennessee, FSU, LSU, and Vandy on the schedule every season, I don’t see Florida adding Miami on a regular basis. Oh well.

OU is also scheduled to play Tennessee a few years after that as well. So that will be (hopefully) a good Big 12/SEC matchup.

As Florida boys, you forgot one thing to hate about Holtz: The way his Jerome Bettis led football team stomped all over the Gators. After awhile, the Gator secondary didn’t even try to tackle Bettis. They’d had enough.
