GUNSLINGERS: ONE YEAR AND RUNNING

A quick note of congrats to LD from Gunslingers, who celebrated one year of some of the finest blogging around. The best media-watch blog on the college football beat, and funny to boot. Just confirms that if bloggerdom came down to an Anchorman brawl between factions, we'd have to throw in with the Georgia guys based on sheer badness. Then, when the fight was over, we'd stab one of them in the back with a trident before they turned on us.

We're guessing that's Mayor Kyle in the hat.

Dibs on Fantana.

Thanks for the kind, undeserving words.

I’ll take Brick Tamland since I’m too dumb to do the fancy graphics that everyone else has.

This makes me think that we need an Atlanta bloggers convention, preferably live-blogged with plenty of alcohol present.

Definitely gotta be Kyle in the hat.

We vote Red and Black game—-how ’bout it?

We’re there, dude.

By the way, I’m thinking of wearing a cowboy hat to the season opener against Western Kentucky on Labor Day weekend. If an A.B.C. cameraman puts me on screen while coming back from a commercial break, I may be able to parlay that into a series of photo layouts in major national magazines and an advice column on S.I.’s website.

L.D., by the way, is The Man.

I think I figured out how Urban pulled that recruiting class. He’s abandoned the Catholic Church in favor of…voodoo.

When are the implants coming, Kyle?

What I’d really like to see is the Notre Dame equivalent of the Cowgirls.

“What I’d really like to see is the Notre Dame equivalent of the Cowgirls”

Dude….nobody wants to see that.

Well, there was this one girl…

Besides, I’d like to see the Cowgirls try this.

I think that would just be The Cows, wouldn’t it?

Pat, I thought you were going to link a picture of a coed reading a book.

By the way, G-day sounds like a great idea as long as it isn’t April 15.

by Michael on Feb 14, 2006 10:15 AM EST reply actions

Fear not, Michael. (Incidentally, that “fear not” applies both to the G-Day game and to the implant thing.)

I called over to the ticket office this afternoon to confirm receipt of my G.E.E.F. contribution and, while I had the guy on the phone, I asked about the G-Day game, which is scheduled for April 8. The probable kickoff time is 2:00 p.m.

The G-Day game is sort of a family outing for us, as Susan and I take Thomas over to Athens to enjoy the scrimmage. (Given that we are talking about a male offspring being taken to watch a game between the hedges, you may feel free to insert your “Sanford and son” references below.)

In other words, I plan to be there, with wife and kid in tow, and I’d love to have the opportunity to meet up with my fellow denizens of the College Football Weblogging Capital of the World while we’re in the Classic City for the day.

I’d come, even though I don’t blog. Though. . .shit I may have a wedding that weekend.
