RANDY SANDERS FINDS NEW JOB

Although the title to this entry really feels like it is ripe for and EDSBS-style farce involving fries and a shake, it is true. Sanders has a new gig and it is in the SEC where the coaches really should know better. The football powerhouse in Lexington Kentucy has seen fit to hire Mr. Sanders as their new quarterback coach. Perhaps he can do for Andre Woodson what he did for Ainge and Clausen last season.

Sanders is caught here playing with his nipples rather than thinking about the next play call.

Quarterback coach at UK is still better than linebacker coach at Milsaps

Sanders wanted to go somewhere where scoring 17 points per game is considered acceptable.

Ors or Stranko,

Why no posts re: basketball? Obviously, a topic we’re comfortable with this week.

Wow.

Who would have thought it was possible to downgrade a coaching staff that already included Rich Brooks?

Now all Kentucky needs is to land a quarterback named Clausen on national signing day and the Wildcats will officially have an offense bad enough to match their defense.

So . . . many . . . jokes . . . must . . . make derogatory comment . . . about Wildcats . . .

Sorry, I can’t do it. This is one of those beyond-parody types of moves. Did they do it on a drunken dare? It’s as if the UK administration got tired of hearing from all the football fans about how hiring Rich Brooks was basically a signal they had basically written off the football program, so they said, “Oh, yeah, you think we look like we don’t give a rat’s ass about the football team now? Well, check THIS out!”

The best part about it is that Randy Sanders was David Cutcliffe’s protege. What does UT do this off-season to spark that dismal offense? They fire Sanders to hire his mentor. You’d think at some point they might want to blame the system, not the coach running it. Then again, maybe they are trying to compete with UK and become a (am I aloud to say this?) basketball school. (Loud shrieking!!)

He looks excited like a little girl.

Woodson doesn’t have a Jim Bob Cooter behind him on the roster at UK, but he does have:

Joe Joe Brown QB So. 6-3/195 Cordele, GA
Rocco Maragas QB Jr. SQ 6-1/200 Canton, OH
David Hamilton QB Jr. SQ 6-2/194 Lexington, KY

Meanwhile, UK’s quarterbacks coach just was hired at UT to be the running backs coach (probably right, since I was always more concerned with UK QB’s scrambling than throwing).

Fanblogs’ item on this has a classic title.

As a Gator fan, I’ll always have a soft spot for Sanders after his excellent job against Clown College in the ’98 Fiesta.

How cosmic would it get if the Wildcats were somehow … gasp … to upset UT next year?

I think this proves Sanders’ breast envy towards Coach Fullmer. A lot of the smaller breasted Tennessee coaches share this insecurity.

This is actually a very smart hire by Brooks as he will now have access to Fullmer’s entire offense…..all 5 plays.

So simple, yet so true. I’ve asked that the DuBose picture at The Houndstooth get turned upside-down (like the Franchione portrait), but it hasn’t happened.

For what it’s worth, Cheatypants Shortsleavedoxford did lead 2A Luverne High School to a state title in ’03.

Add to the list for UK quarterbacks one Will Fidler. Fidler threw for 4,000 yards and 45 touchdowns as a senior. Stands 6’5 and 215. While not Couch-esque, he will get a look or two next year and Curtis Pulley as well…

UK also signed 30 (yes, 30…space, bitches…UK did have Story Musgrave as an astronaut alumnus) recruits for the season. I know Brooks isn’t well received but he got a pretty good class considering…

Does this mean that Kentucky may actually put up a decent game against Tennessee now that the playbook is out. I’d rather be an asst. coach for a blind pee wee team than to be anywhere near the coaching roster for the Kensucky Wildcats.
