Around SBN: Penn State Recruiting Roundup Is Set For A Big Junior Day

PURDUE TAKES THE LEAD FOR THE FULMER CUP: FOUR ARRESTS AND COUNTING!

The competition for the Fulmer Cup for Offseason Handcuffery began the instant Matt Leinart threw the final pass of the Rose Bowl, and Purdue has wasted little time jumping to a stunning four arrest lead, with the latest coming with WR Dorien Bryant's arrest for punching someone in the nose. With Spurrier gradually beating the Cocks into submission in Columbia, who stands a chance at catching up with the unraveling Boilermakers?

Don’t count the Vols out of this… it is early.

Always deadly. We like Oregon State, too. Always hoping for another gay sheep-napping.

Vols are a safe pick; like the Patriots, you can’t really bet against them until someone tops them. Tony McDaniel is going pro, though, so there’s at least one fewer punch-prone Vol prowling Knoxville.

As a Boilermaker fan (yes, I’m still in it after this season) I can say that Joe Tiller better get his group together or next year is going to be worse than last year. Even the students at Purdue have written letters to the student newspaper requesting that Tiller recruit people with better character. Wowza…I’m embarassed to be a boiler some days….

When the Sweater Vest is away (recruiting), the felons will play. Surely you guys haven’t given up on Ohio State just yet. With a slate full of classes to skip and voluntary workouts, the Buckeyes are assured of filling up Columbus police blotters for at least the next 6 months.

Like Maurice Clarett in a back bar alley or Troy Smith palming hundreds at the boosters’ annual meet n’ greet, OSU will strong arm and/or bribe its way to the top.

The Fulmer Cup may have started off in Knoxville, with brief stops in Coulmbia, Lincoln and Coral Gables, but it has clearly been wrested away by Tressel’s Truants.

With esteemed alumni like the aforementioned, along with Steve Belasari and Branden Joe, OSU fans can assure themselves that the the Fulmer Cup is going nowhere in the neat future.

I would think with Michael Irvin pledging to “get more involved” at the “U”, Miami may be just a season or two away from returning to the leader for this new “BCS” (Bond & Convict Series).

Everyone is seriously sleeping on Coach Richt’s collection of ‘dawgs … in true Bobby Bowden fashion he’s got the awe-shucks chuch image disguising a crew of felons to be (wonder where he learned that act from). Easily the dark horse favorite this offseason.

No bias in any of these picks, of course…

Noles.

Any guesses of where the Orgeron Cup will land? For those uninformed few, this would be the off season award for most arrests of a coaching staff for dwis, spousal abuses, and general fits of rage.

Hey Nathan,
I might suggest GT. They started late, but now that they have a taste I think we can expect them to go for it with great dedication. I mean look at their last season; reaching probation for the first time and playing felons. Then they lose their AD, so no strong parent figure! I think GT is definitely starting down a path of getting caught for their indiscretions.

I’d put Ole Miss in the running for the Fulmer Award, since O seems to be turning the offensive staff into Miami North.

Plus, there’s always the added risk of a Kellen Winslow-style idiotic outburst or two.

As usual, Marshall’s off to a strong start as the mid-major contender. According to today’s papers, UVA washout Ahmad Bradshaw was arrested for felony burglary.

No Bowl Game this year for the Vols translates to an easy defense of our crown…can anyone say Dynasty?
