SCOUT.COM TURNS PIMP FOR TEBOW

Bill from Baredown makes a point worth throwing to the general public here: is this treacly pitch to OMG-so-hott qb recruit Tim Tebow a recruiting violation? And if not, just how bad is it that the Scout.com people even let something this partisan get posted? And just what kind of monkey with a modem do you have to be to become a contributor to Scout? And how on earth do they ask people to pay for this shit without flat-out calling you a Mongoloid in their promos?

Eligible to write for Scout.com? Or just great apes alone?

To be fair, I said that I believe it would be a recruiting violation if they had said this TO the recruit, which they didn’t.

As it stands, though…if the writer donates money to UF, it’s pretty questionable. Many of the Scout sites are really unprofessional (we Notre Dame fans are blessed with Mike Frank and crew at Irish Eyes, thankfully), but I thought this was really pushing it.

sorry for the repost

He’s not a regular writer (not that they don’t have a couple of homer writers on staff). One of the members started a recruiting blog.

He wrote an article to assure everyone of the high probability of landing Tebow in light of losing Jevan Snead.

Gatorcountry let him post the entry on the front page as if it was an article.

Exactly. This is the kind of envelope-pushing that electronic media is going to be doing in the recruiting process (see UM3 and Tebow on the text message, for example.)

BTW, I am a big fan of having homers writing and announcing.

You guys in Atlanta don’t get the satisfaction of hearing the Sunsports announcers say things like “we(the gators) are having all the calls go against us” on the Sunday morning replay of the games.

It’s makes you feel better about the game when the comments are slanted.

Thanks, Pace. Still sketchy work on their part. Hearsay, specious reasoning, rumor…throw in some profanity and assfucking jokes, and they’re almost ready for EDSBS.

Dr. Football who writes for the GT Scout.com site is the worst homer and biggest flaming idiot ever.

Overall, it’s an excellent message board – that guy is a complete douche who shouldn’t be allowed within 100ft. of a keyboard however.
