PETER KERASOTIS: WORST COLUMNIST IN AMERICA
Peter Kerasotis, the worst columnist in America, who we've had a disagreement or two in the past with, keeps typing away at his computer and hitting send with the enthusiasm and panache of a syphilitic chimp. Compare his fecal column on the upcoming UF/SC game with the old world grace and well-constructed grafs of Hubert Mizell's column on the same subject.

Kerasotis preps for another day's work.

I don’t know guys — that column makes sense to me. I mean, I witnessed 5-6, 5-6 and 6-5 teams while I was in Columbia, and expected the Gamecocks to rock a 3-8 record this year, at best. Darth Visor could well make UF look Zooked. Besides, Meyer will get wasted on the $1 Rolling Rocks at Pub in Five Points Friday night and will turn over the offensive playcalling to a four-year-old while he lounges on the sideline and begs the world to stop spinning.

Oh, yeah, and Mizell misspelled Moncks Corner. Which (in an irrational judgement) makes him suck in my book.

It’s the inanity of suggesting that Spurrier come back that gets us, along with the complete disparaging of a guy who’s 7-2 thus far. Plus we’ve got a cumulative grudge against him for just sucking.
Nothing against Spurrier—indeed, we’ve got an unhealthy man-crush on him—but the column’s just off.

Wow, that was a breath-takingly bad column. Wow.
I like the part about how Meyer has to beat SC 54-17. I mean, Spurrier’s last club was a little different than Meyer’s club this year. Plus, it’s certainly not a stretch to imagine the Gators still laying a whooping. I mean, I think Auburn beat SC 48-7 this year and Bama won 37-14, no?
Also funny that the Spread Option is suddenly a ‘horizontal’ offense. It certainly has horizontal elements, but it is definitely a vertical offense all the way. What a buffoon.

If you think the spread option is horizontal, you should come watch my jr. pee wee defense eat it up. Nine technique, tackle nose twist towards the protection, blitz the outside man. Shell up top and combo coverage so your corners are always looking in at for the option threat. At the SEC level it is an insult. Protect with 5 and the word vertical is an oxymoron.

I guess in retrospect that Peter was pretty much on the mark.
