BILL CALLAHAN, THE LINCOLN SLASHER?

After achieving another milestone in Nebraska history--the first two back-to-back home losses in a row since the Precambrian era--did Bill Callahan celebrate by making a throat-slashing gesture at an official? Watch the video for yourself and decide. Either way, Callahan's added another brick to his wall of douchbagdom, which includes calling Oklahoma fans "fucking rednecks" in last year's game, calling fifty passes a game and slowing the ABC afternoon games to a crawl for the past two years, and calling such an inept game in the Super Bowl that Bucs safety John Lynch was heard laughing on the field mikes during the game following Rich Gannon's fifth pick of the game.

I can tell you, I saw the throat slashing gesture first hand as I watched that game. After Osborne and Solich, it was quite a surprise to see a Husker coach acting in such a fasion. Us Husker fans truly are doing our best to support the new guy but let me tell you, after these last two games, it is getting tougher to support an NFL reject.

p.s. in his defense, the refs had just blown yet another holding call against Oklahoma. Risking an unsportsmanlike conduct call though? That is not Nebraska class at all.

Looks pretty obvious – did he mean it, I don’t know. Nebraska’s always been known as one of the classiest, if not classiest, programs in college football (Lawrence Phillips aside) and I’d say this type of stuff won’t hold much water. Hope it doesn’t get too out of hand.

Their fans were so nice to me after kicking our ass in Tempe. I’ll always have a soft spot for them for that… just not for the jail bird Lawrence Philips.

Much love for Nebraska fans. I made the long roadtrip up to Lincoln a couple years ago.

For some reason, fans in the Big 12 are not too nice to Texas fans, but Nebraskans were all class. Very smart stadium designers, too. The wooden benches lowered the ass freeze factor.

Callahan has been terrible so far. Firing a coach is a gamble that can lead to wandering in the desert for years. Look at A&M. Hopefully, the Huskers can get it rolling because college football is just better with a good Nebraska.

What exactly was he trying to convey with the gesture? In response to a missed call I could get the “choke” gesture or the Bobby Knight “glasses” gesture (forming two circles with ones fingers over ones eyes) but what exactly does the throat slash mean in this context? That he’s going to kill the refs? That he’s gone gangsta’ on Husker Nation? I just don’t get it.

One of the field refs who filed a post-game report supposedly witnessed the gesture, but no flag was thrown. No big deal? I guess Callahan could have made a dozen or so more gestures to make up for the dozen or so holding penalties Oklahoma had with no flags thrown. Let’s review some of that video footage, shall we?

anybody notice that refs are now calling dumb penalties against us now. look at lucky’s kickoff return for a touchdown and it got callled back for a block in the back. I sure didnt see that block against the jayhawks this guy callahan needs to go. Nothing good will come from this.

Bill Callahan is a terrible coach. I have been a Husker fan my entire life and I am not accustom to seeing Nebraska lose. With Callahan at Nebraska i see no more winning in the near future. Until his dumbass is gone (along with the terrible defensive coordinator) Nebraska fans (myself included) will continue to suffer in the hands of a dumb ass coach.

well another loss for nebraska. i hope that is the final straw for BC and Pedie. But… from what i have heard from the husker nation, you people will open the front door and let thugs rape and pillage in your house. cut the losses and not let this clown bring in any more of HIS players for his WCO (BY THE WAY Bill, that is not the WCO you moron.
