Brutal!! While his injury might benefit my Vols, he was exciting to watch and isn’t that what it’s all about – watching young men accomplish spectacular things without the ego that comes with the NFL!!?
It was very sad to see that…I am Gator, but what pained me most about the game was the Prothro injury. I don’t think Alabama fans realize it but he has probably played his last football game and will have a limp for the rest of his life since that area of the body does not tend to heal real well. Hopefully I am wrong and he is able to come back, cause he is a special talent but the same kind of injury ended Joe theisman’s career. Maybe Shula learned his lesson.
Stop hating on Shula. Like I’ve said ad nauseum, Florida was a top 5 SEC school. The drive started early in the fourth, and nobody in their right mind would’ve put in the second string then (except maybe the Bear, who would do it with a 14-point lead). One of the Britt brothers was hurt similarly and came back, so one should think with the top-notch facilities Bama has (and with UAB right up the road), Prothro will be back to be a great player next year.
Its not Shula hating. He had no idea something like that would happen (other than Croyle last year) and I am all for being aggressive, showing no mercy and going after a team until the end. However, in the fourth quarter this is the perfect time to get your next generation of players invaluable experience against the number 5 team in the country with a 28 point cushion. If they falter and give up a score your still up 3 scores with under 10 minutes and the way the Bama D was playing I couldn’t possibly imagine Florida all of a sudden putting up 4 touchdowns in 10 minutes.
Orson Swindle and Stranko Montana are two men pushing thirty who should know better than to run a college football blog, but evidently don't. Both graduated from the University of Florida, and both agree that college football is far too important to be left to the professionals.

Dude, I strongly suggest putting up a “Not Safe For Those Who Like Ankles” warning.

I didn’t see the exact injury report but there is a chance he will end up with something along these lines. I know UAB has wonderful surgeons and I hope he is back on the field next season.
