Around SBN: Four TCU Football Players Among 17 Arrested In Drug Ring

MEYER CALLS OUT MAJOR FLAW IN THE ZOOK REGIME

In an article in the Washington Post about the Gator's transition to Urban Meyer's spread option, there was a quote from Meyer which says so much about the failings of the Zook regime at Florida.

"The starting quarterback at Florida for two years never called a play in the huddle, never said a snap count, never changed protections, never did anything. When you say that, it's kind of unbelievable. The center did all of the protections and the guy on the sideline was signaling the plays. They got to the huddle, [Leak] lifted his leg and played. We ask a lot more of him."

Amazing.

Leak better lift his leg faster this year, cus he won’t be able to keep up with all those fast LSU linebackers. Burp!

That whole bit about Leak lifting his leg and playing is a little bit ‘R’ rated.

I think a ’Dawg would know a little more about lifting his leg in certain situations.

We don’t lift our leg and play…we lift our leg and spray. Slight difference. We play with our hind legs firmly on the ground.

Leak seemed to do ok against LSU as a freshman.

He did very well. He also almost lost to Kentucky, which is kind of like losing to anyone else. The offense always seemed so hemmed in—bubble screen, bubble screen, draw!—that we’re relieved to see someone who might place some trust in his qb’s ability to read a d.

Now you know how it felt as I read that the the Michigan defensive linemen were improving this spring because former “line coach” Bill Sheridan (a Carr acolyte who coaches LBs) didn’t know shit and had them using HIGH SCHOOL TECHNIQUES. When the new guy, Steve Stripling (superb mustache), showed up, the players were gushing, “He’s been great. He showed us some stuff we didn’t know. We were mostly just using stuff we learned in high school.” How does the head coach at the University of fucking Michigan let his d-line use high school technique for years?!?!?!?! Serenity now!
