John Walters keeps ascending the ranks of our favorite sportswriters by using a pesky and appealing device: reason. West Coast football isn’t inferior–it’s just more urban, and for college football attendance, that ain’t a good thing. Sounds reasonable enough to us, and we haven’t even cracked into the bottle of Moet and Chandon in our file drawer yet.
Orson Swindle and Stranko Montana are two men pushing thirty who should know better than to run a college football blog, but evidently don't. Both graduated from the University of Florida, and both agree that college football is far too important to be left to the professionals.

I dunno, man. He’s got a point, but he seemed to be writing in an intentionally annoying fashion. He had about 200 words of column there and decided to blow it up by listing all these different things about west coast football. Hurray beer.

Hurray Beer indeed. Walters is a little annoying, but it’s in a Mickey Kaus-hyper way we don’t mind so much. It’s one of the reasons we like him.
