STATEFANS NATION ON FELDMAN/ACC
StateFans Nation puts their three cents in on Feldman's conference rankings and risks an HP hissyfit by not prostrating himself before the altar of the Pac-10.

I guess you don’t really understand. As long as people aren’t prostrating their prostrates before the altar of the SEC—as many-who-shall-remain-nameless like to do, seemingly out of blind habit—then I respect that. I mean, even I put the ACC first in my rankings (a list—with the Pac-10 second—you seemd to tacitly agree with). So, there you go. It’s all settled.

I think it’s obvious he understands. And that the comment was an obvious, benign, pot shot.
You really do have a thing for the SEC though.

See? Hissyfit, albeit a minor one. We’d suggest some Paxil to take the edge off, but that would impede your blogging, which we wouldn’t want to do under any circumstances. Just exposing your Mooninite soul again.
And we think the Big Ten/Pac-10 thing is a coin toss right now. We’re prone to thinking the Pac-10 has an edge, but that’s only because Ron Zook joined the Big 10’s ranks this year. But hey: Illinois can now look forward to getting better and better with each loss.

Can someone inform me why anyone gives a shit about the incremental differences between conferences? I mean if it goes like
ACC 105
Big Ten 104
SEC 100.3
Pac Ten 0.2
Then whatever differences there are between major conferences are totally miniscule and irrelevant. But it makes great Trev fodder. This is a Don’t Feed The Trolls topic.

Not that I want to introduce reason into a discussion about college football, but the conclusion that “The #3 ACC and the #4 SEC teams are equal” does not automatically follow from “The SEC had more teams in it than the ACC”.
Just like the sec sending the #4 to play the ACC #3 does not automatically mean it is sending an “inferior opponent”.
Again, I don’t want to spoil anyone’s fun.

Well-said Brian. It’s strictly a debate for the Mooninites. “We are far superior…”

I guess you and Stranko are Dr. Weird and Steve, then? Ah, and the hissyfit factor. I guess one can throw a hissyfit (as you did) and then label a response to it as also being a hissyfit. But what’s the point? Oh, and nice to see the usual poor attempt at humor by Lloyd Carr. Must still be pissed off at that loss to Oregon.

You and Lloyd would crack each other up, HP. As for being Dr. Weird and Steve? Honored at the comparison, though we we’ll go on the record as saying we have never ripped our brain out of our own head as Dr. Weird has done. Damaged it on a few occasions-yes, the night before the UF-UT game in 1996 stands out particularly vividly in my mind-but never actually pulled it out of my skull and then chased Stranko around with it.
